Listening in on the boy's words, Lev could easily understand where he was coming from. Witnessing something as tragic as that, done by members of another species, could definitely make a person want to become a hunter. It was like when Lev watched and tried to fight off Remy and those other angels when they attacked in Russia. It gave him a deep hatred for the angel god, and to this day, he still wanted to get his own form of vengeance for those who died because of Remy. "They tell me that I was saved by a hunter as well." Lev added in. Now it was clear that he and Lucien had a bit in common.
"Apparently, I was abandoned at birth by my parents. It had something to do with the war, but just what exactly, I haven't found out. It was when I was nearly dead from starvation, that a hunter found me and brought me back to that facility." Once he was there, they had managed to get him back up into good health, and he was raised there as he trained. Sure, he couldn't be exactly sure that that was the truth, but they had no reason to lie to him about it.
So in short, he was grateful for hunters too as he grew up. They were the ones who had saved his life. "Once you get the hang of it, you learn to brush it off some." Lev continued to say, speaking about how it was to get used to hunting. "You finish one, and move onto the next. Don't let any of it linger in your mind if it bothers you." It was a hard thing to do, but swallowing down the sights you saw as a hunter, was a must. For Lev, there were a few things that he's done that disturbed him, but he never tried to think about them much. If he did, it would start to get to him.
As they made their way further and further away from the abandoned buildings, he could see the more populated areas of the city in the distance. The skyscrapers of downtown loomed out over the horizon as well, some of the lights of the buildings still on. It was peaceful to look at at times, and sitting there, just looking out over the city, could be rather soothing. A bit corny? Probably. But Lev sometimes did so, just to calm his thoughts and wind down the night.

Lucien listened quietly has they spoke. Well what do you know? They had something in common after all. He remained quiet as he finished about how to brush it off.
" How do you brush off something like that though?" He asked, looking back up at him. How does one rush off taking another life? It must be rather easy though.. people did it all the time... " What happens when you brush it off though? After brushing it off so many times? How does it keep from being mindless? How do you keep from not becoming like them?" He wasn't really talking to him, mainley just thinking allowed. Maybe he was putting to much thought into it? Maybe he was making it harder than it needed to be. People brushed things like this off often...other hunters did ... so psychotic serial killers.... so did those like the vampires that killed his family, the demons and angels that took orders from Kamiya and Remy.... What separated you from them? He could answer that himself...They were doing it for the better good....But...what happened what happened when you just did it just to it, when it becomes a habit... What separates you from them then?
He groaned a little, rubbing his head, now he was doing to much thinking.

"You think of something else." Lev explained. "Sometimes, you just have to leave work at work, and come home with it cleared from your mind." It wasn't as easy as it sounded, but it helped a lot. And other than hunters, there were a lot of other people who had jobs that required something like that. Police, firefighters, paramedics, they never brought their work home. If you had family to see, then it made things easier. You could focus on them, and not on the things that have happened while on the job.
However, for someone who lived on their own like Lev, it wasn't that simple. Luckily though, he was used to it, and killing people didn't bother him at all, unless it had some other aspect to it. Like having to kill a person who had a wife or kids. Those were the things that plagued him, and he tried to avoid them when he could. "It's all about shutting it out." He continued to say. "You can't let it get to you, or it'll overrun your life." Lev has seen for himself, a hunter who had the more horrid killings get to him. He broke down, fell into a state of depression, then quit his job, and nearly killed himself later on.
It was dark at times, but that was why Lev always tried to find the fun in it. He focused more on the adrenaline rush, and the positive thoughts of getting a job done. And because he's been doing it for so long, it has made him mindless in some aspects, but he didn't let it rule over his life. Lev didn't want to become like that other hunter, and he'd make sure that Lucien didn't either if he decided to stick with this job. So for now, he'd try to get his mind away from the images of killing those druids.
"A few places out around the city are still open, if you want to sit this thing over." There were some cafes and such that stayed open late, but Lev wasn't sure if eating was on Lucien's mind at the moment. More than likely, it wasn't, and other than those cafes, there probably wasn't anything else open right now.

" Its not that easy to clear from your mind." He mumbled. But he could try. That'll probably be the only way to ever succeed in this business. He was still rather determined about this job, as much as he didn't like some parts about it. Its all he's ever wanted to do still.
By now they were far from the building and were starting to enter the regular parts of the city. He was feeling a little better now, as good as he could feel in the situation. As he offered to go somewhere, the boy just gave a half smile Thanks, but its alright." His smile faded as he looked straight ahead again " I just kinda wanna go home right now, if that's alright." He answered. It was startiing to get late and it had been a long day for him.

As they walked further into the city, it made Lev a bit happier as well. He never liked the outskirts too much, but he didn't mind going there when he had to. "Of course it's alright." He said to Lucien about going home. He understood, and he wasn't about to hold the kid back from going home after something like that. Lev also wouldn't put him straight back to work, and he'd give him some time to think things over. So he pulled out a piece of paper and a pen before writing down the number to his cell.
He usually didn't carry a pen and paper on him, but he knew that it could come in handy later if he were training someone. On another note, he didn't give out his personal number much either. The Bridgefield Union had their own number that people could call, and that was what he usually gave to others. They also had business cards, and although that was directed more for a humorous perspective, they came in handy at times as well. People would sometimes call, having serious issues with things and asking hunters for help. Of course, since The Bridgefield Union kept their location under wraps from the public, they had made the number untraceable.
"You can call me whenever you're ready to head back out." Lev said as he handed the piece of paper over to Lucien. For the most part, Lev was always busy with work, so he didn't always answer the calls that came to his phone. However, if it was something important, he'd find time for it. If not, he'd push it off and deal with it later on when he wasn't working. Though again, he didn't give out his personal number out to very many, so he didn't have to worry much about people calling him at work. One of these days, he was considering buying another phone. That way, one could be for work, and the other for more personal things.
