The sun was slowley setting on the town of Bridgefield, the last few rays of light disappearing through the trees of the old park. Green eyes glanced to the sky as it began too darken. Lucien had called Lev earlier that day, though didn't get an answer, instead leaving a message to meet him here around this time. It had been about two weeks since the incident with the druids, and he had done allot of thinking. Two weeks of restless nights and thinking over the whole thing. He had done allot of thinking.. too much for a thirteen year old. In the end...he made a decision. He still wanted to be a hunter. It'd take a little getting use too...yes.. but in the end it was still what he wanted. It was still what he believed he was meant to do. He'd get over the killing part, or at least, he'd do his best too.
" Back to murder it seems."
He tried his best to push those thoughts from his head. Kicking at a rock, before picking it up and tossing it absent mindedly towards the bushes.
He tossed another rock giving a heavy sigh., looking back down from the sky as the last rays of light disappeared from the city. He heard a noise, turnign his head towards it. " Lev?"

With only one human made into a meal today, it was a bit of an understatement to say that Saben was hungry. When it came to what he was well known for, cannibalism, his stomach seemed like a bottomless pit. He didn't constantly eat at every waking moment, but he never seemed to get too full either. At some point, he'd eventually have to reach a limit, and he did, though he just ate more than what humans did. As for tonight, feeling full wasn't any part of the story. So Saben had went out, and made his way towards the park to pick out some unfortunate victims.
He'd decided upon the park, because it was a family place. Groups of people would go there to spend some time together, and Saben was willing to take advantage of that. More people, meant more food. However, it meant a bit more of a challenge as well, but it didn't make that much of a difference. The people here were human, so even if he were to be outnumbered, he'd still have the advantage of power. Unless of course, Remy were to show up like he seemed to do every so often.
As much as Saben would've loved to bother him, he knew it was a bad idea. Kamiya had already told him to leave the angel alone, and he knew it'd be hard to do such a thing. Saben despised Remy, and the one thing he'd love just as much as killing him, would be to get his hands on his daughter. Saben was aware of how much she meant to him, but taking her would've been a stupid mistake. Remy would come looking for her, and that would likely anger Kamiya to an extent. So to keep anything even related to that from happening, Saben would ignore the angel god if he saw him.
Luckily, he didn't sense any angels in the park. It was mostly humans, and a few other species. Keeping at a constant pace, he did his best to blend in, before reaching a less populated area of the park. That was when he saw the boy. He seemed around thirteen years of age, and he was alone. Perfect. That familiar grin came to Saben, and he approached the kid from behind. "Want to take another guess at that?" He said to the boy after he had turned around.
"How about this. I'll give you one more free guess at my name, and then it'll cost you from there." Now, what was Saben asking for in cost you ask? Fingers worked. Anymore guesses after this last one, would cost one finger. It was his way of paying, and not everyone seemed to like it at times.

It was starting to get darker out, and he was growing slightly more nervous. He wasn't afraid of the dark, but hunter trainee or not, it wasn't too smart for a thirteen year old to be out alone at night. As everyone always said, this city was ground zero. For Demon, angels, werewolves, vampires, anything. It really wasn't smart for anyone to be out alone at night. He perked up a little as he thought he heard Lev coming, but that didn't last long.
" Want to take another guess at that?"
Lucien quickly scrambled off the bench, backing up a few steps. " O-Oh hello." He gave a nervous little laugh. He studied the man, though features were hard to make out in the dying light. It was most certainly no one he knew. He took another step back, wondering if he should make a run. But he had the suspicion the guy wasn't human... so running might not do much good. He slowley stuck his hand in his pocket, grasping the little pocket knife he had gotten for cheap at a thrift store. It wasn't much, but it was something. He didn't pull it out yet though.
The kid gave a nervous little chuckle, backing up a few more steps " A-as much as I love games....I think my mom is cooking dinner right now." He gave a nervous smile, babbling somewhat. " M-maybe some other time?" He stammered out, all the while taking slow steps back.

Taking a step into the light, Saben allowed himself to be seen. This kid was obviously afraid, and that was just what he needed. Saben fed off of people's fears, and he used that to take advantage of them. What helped in it all, was the fact that he was a demon. He could control fire, and the pyromaniac in him fed off of that as well. It wasn't everyday that you came across someone who fancied burning to death, or being eaten alive by a cannibal. So Saben had a lot of resources to work with, and he used every single one of them.
"Dinner sounds nice." He said as he stepped closer to the kid. "I haven't eaten for awhile, maybe a bit of meat will do?" For him, it didn't matter what kind of mood he was in. He usually resorted to playing games with people, just to add in some fun. One time, while torturing a victim, he insisted that they played his own little version of "Operation", or "doctor". Saben could ask if they knew where a certain organ was, and if they didn't, he'd gladly rip it out and show them for himself.
"Honestly though." He continued to say. "One more guess before I start making it cost." As of now, he wasn't throwing it out straight forward that he wanted to bring harm to this kid, but that smirk on his face didn't seem too friendly. In his pocket, he had a knife, and he'd use that knife to carry along with the game. Each wrong guess at his name, would cost the kid a finger. If he ran out of fingers, then he'd move on to toes. Of course, there were limbs as well, but he doubted that he'd get that far.
So Saben still took steps towards Lucien, not intending to let him run. He'd chase him if he did, and it was obvious who'd win in an instance like that. Saben was a demon, and the kid was only human.

Lucien gulped...was he the bit of meat the guy fancied? He desperately hoped not. As the guy moved closer, he took another few steps back, knife in hand behind his back. It probably wouldn't do him to much good, but it was something. He had a bit of training in hand to hand combat, but never any actual field experience, plus he didn't even know what this guy was even if he was a creature. He briefly wondered if Lev had ever got his message and if he had if he would be here soon, he really hoped so... But hoping wouldn't help him out to much right now... Maybe he could keep the guy occupied with a little bit of talking. He gave another nervous laugh " U-uh. Is it Ben? You look like a Ben.... I-I knew a Ben once nice guy really..." He babbled again, laughing slightly. Though he figured that most likely would not be the answer. He swallowed again " Whats the cost? He was kind of afraid to know.
A few more steps back, looking up at the sky " Y-you know its late, and my m-mom is probably getting kinda worried.. it was fun while it lasted" He gave a forced smile continuing to step back.

Wrong answer. His name wasn't Ben, at least not entirely. It made up the last portion of it, but that wasn't good enough for him. And if anyone ever dared to call him Ben, he'd make sure to rip their vocal cords out so they wouldn't be able to do it again. "Ooh, pretty close, but no cigar." Saben said to the kid. All the while, he was still taking steps closer to him. With Saben after you, there weren't all too many places you could go. As a demon, he was fast, and he was a predator as well. Humans and all these other species, were his prey.
"The cost for your next guess, is actually free. But the cost of getting it wrong is what you need to worry about." Although he had already told Lucien that he had come close with his first guess, he wasn't going to help him out any further than that. He enjoyed seeing people in pain, and this was how he played his games. However, as he heard Lucien mention that it was getting late, the smirk on Saben's face faded some, but not completely. "You know the thing about excuses?" He asked. "I can't stand them."
It was in situations like this were people always gave him excuses. And usually, it was always the same variety of excuses. A doctor's appointment, needing to get home early, kids, etc. Saben's heard them all, and he never really believed them. Sure, there were probably some people who were telling the truth, but that made no difference to him. They'd still be a target for him, and he rarely ever let people off the hook. And if he did, well, then you'd probably wish he would've killed you.
So again, Saben took a few steps closer, picking up the pace a bit some though. He was losing his patience, and he wasn't in the mood for chit chat. In fact, he'd actually rather the boy run than just stand here and talk. Chasing people was fun, especially when he got into that rabid dog or mutant type of mood. When he was first born, Saben wasn't at all civilized. He acted more like a mutant, and at times, that side of him would surface. Either his anger would bring it out, or he'd reveal it to simply scare people.

" Pretty close but no cigar." Wait that was close? Benjamin? But nooo, something told him that wasn't it,and something told him he'd better just keep his mouth shut after that. He gave another laugh " Yeah.. yeah excuses suck don't they, hehe" He gripped the knife behind his back harder, ready to use it if the guy got to close, or attacked him, or both would probably be a more likely answer. He wouldn't outright attack the guy himself... he didn't know what he was or what weapons he might have on him himself.. though standing here like a sitting duck may not be a good answer either, but it was the better bet than lunging at the guy. Running probably wasn't a good idea either...but he may be his only choice soon.
I-I mean of course I wouldn't want to go home while talking to... a..nice gentlemen as yourself.. on such..a-a beautiful night." He continued to talk, nothing could happen if the guy was talking right? He hoped so. " And what a what a beautiful night it is isn't it?" He continued backing away, but the guy was coming closer at a much faster pace now. Lucien stumbled backwards, falling. He rubbed his back, looking back up at the guy " Geesh I'm such a clutz..." He mumbled as he brought himself to his feet ,thoguh as he did so, he used his free hand to clutch a bit of dirt and rocks as he talked, getting a bit of an idea. [/b] S-so didn't you say something about being hungry?"[/b][/size]

Still making his way closer to the kid, Saben listened in to what he had to say. He had noticed the hand behind his back, and Saben presumed that he had a weapon, or at least was trying to make it seem so. It didn't bother him, and if this kid wanted to attack him, so be it. Other than being the creep that he was, Saben wasn't doing much in the way of anything threatening. "It is a nice night, and I'm certain that it can get better...for me at least." Unless of course, the boy enjoyed being eaten or chased, and that wasn't likely.
And now, even as the kid fell to the ground, Saben came closer, but stopped just as he got to him. Again, he was watching his every move, and saw him pick up a handful of dirt and rock. It put another smirk on his face, and in a way, Saben actually hoped that he'd throw it at him. Such an action would likely make the kid run, and that was what Saben wanted. It would signal the start of a chase, and since he was only human, a demon would have no trouble in catching up to him. "Go ahead and do it." Saben said, the smile remaining on his face.
Hell, just to add in a bit of fun, he was even thinking about giving the kid a head start. Either that, or he could let him run off so he could hunt for him. He enjoyed tracking people down, just as much as he enjoyed chasing them. Humans especially. They were always pretty weak in their techniques, and it humored him to see them try. Of course, humans could do some pretty boring and annoying things as well. For instance, some knew that he fed off of fear and seeing someone cower.
So when they saw that in him, they'd purposely hide their fear, and act like they were tough. It was actually pretty pathetic at times, and Saben hated it when people gave him an attitude. Either way though, they usually ended up in a meal for im.
OOC: Gah! Sorry, my muse is horrible. I had to beat it into submission. XD

Lucien gulped. Appearently he had figured out his plan. It wasn't his best idea. Though standing and fighting didn't seem very good either. That would be his last resort. He threw the dirt, hoping for a dead aim at the eyes. It was then with out a second glance he turned and ran. He didn't dare look back. He didn't want to find out why the night could get better for the guy. And hopefully he wouldn't. He ran as hard and fast as he could, which thankfully through training, he was in better shape than most thirteen year olds. Of course...he couldn't keep running forever. He ducked into a near by alley across the street from the park, hiding behind a few trash cans. The smell as aweful...but he hoped it would mask his own scent. By now he had pretty much figured out the guy was defiantly not human, and non humans had heightened senses, just he hoped the smell of trash was stronger than his own.
By now they guy had probably caught up. He probably could've caught up even sooner than that.He tried to slow his breathing, knowing if he breathed to hard, it would probably be heard, as he peeked out from between the trash can

Saben's glance stayed on the kid, and he waited for him to make a move. That's when it happened, and the demon was ready for it. As soon as the dirt and rock came him way, Saben dodged it, and watched as the kid ran off. Standing his ground, he actually allowed his victim to run, without him chasing after. He was sticking with the plan of hunting him down, instead of running after the prey. So after keeping an eye on him for a moment or two, and seeing him disappear into an alley, Saben finally began to make his way towards him.
Then he stopped at the entrance of the alley, a slight smirk on his face as he took in the scent in the air. Most of it, was trash, stuff like rotting food and dog crap. However, he could still pick up on the smell of the human, and it made him snicker. "You need to do a little better then this if you want even the slightest chance." He said out loud. And with that, a new idea came to mind. There were some trash bags piled up behind the cans, and Saben knew that he could simply tap into his mind and use inferno.
So as soon as that plan came to him, he went through with it, and flames started to engulf the bags. Yet, Saben wasn't aiming to kill his victim. Oh no. He simply wanted to drive him away, so he could give chase or try to hunt him again. What fun would it be if he killed the silly little human too quickly? "Whoopsie." Saben said, obviously being sarcastic. He had no idea that this kid was supposed to be meeting another hunter, who could be here at any moment, but he wouldn't have cared anyway.
Most hunters were human, and they weren't much of a problem to take care of. If anyone else showed up, he'd simply take care of that issue before moving on. Yet, there was a catch to that as well. If a person gave him too much trouble, he wouldn't bother to fight too much. There were plenty of other people around that he could prey upon, without much hassle.

He held his breath as he saw Saben enter the alley. As he spoke though.. his heart sank more and more. He muttered a curse under his breath, but stayed her he was. It was then that he smelt something...burning? Green eyes gazed around wildley, only too see the bags of trash next to him burning....Well atleast he now knew what the guy was.. but the prospect scared him more than the fire.
" Murde!" Another curse word, but louder as he scrambled out fro behind the trash cans, sending the scattering, coughing a few times. Wide green eyed gaze turned back too Saben, before taking off down the rest of the stretch of alley. He ran untill he hit a dead end. It was hardly even enough time for him to think of a new plan. He was out ideas.. and it seemed his luck had ran out a long time ago. He turned around again, once again whipping out the small pocket knife. He didn't have much a choice anymore. He most likely wouldn't survive the night... but he wouldn't just lay down and die either. He would rather not die at all.. he was too young to die.. He hadn't even ever kissed a girl yet! But he was out of options...If he was going to go down, atleast he was going to go down with as much fight as a 13 ear old with a wimpy pocket knife had. Which probably against a demon wasn't a whole lot.

When the kid began to run, another snicker escaped him. His plan had worked, and it amused him to see the human run. So once more, he began to walk deeper into the alley. As he passed by the fire, he could feel the heat from the flames, but it was something he was used to. A pyromaniac with inferno abilities, well, you could say it wasn't exactly a good thing. From there, the kid had run into a dead end, and it brought a smile to Saben's face. However, it was far from friendly. "End of the road, huh?" He said to him.
All the while, Saben closed the distance between the two. Before he got within striking distance though, he stopped and looked at the knife. He was thinking about using inferno again, but just for a quick second. It would be like sticking your finger into the flame of a candle, and he hoped it would cause the kid to drop the knife. Saben was aware though, that the plan could fail. If this hunter had been trained well enough, he might not let go at all. Some hunters were like that, and it were those kind who proved to be a challenge at times.
So without giving it much more thought than that, he tapped into his ability, and put a small flame under the kid's hand. Once again, it wasn't enough to do much, but he wasn't aiming to harm just yet. He first wanted to get the knife away, then he'd move on to more...violent, things. "You hunters and your weapons." Saben said, the smile still on his face. He believed that if it hadn't been for the little toys that hunters used, they'd lose their battles every single time. And Saben wasn't the only one who thought of it that way. He was certain that the other species believed that exact same thing.
Hunters were like the scum of the earth to everyone else, well, except to other humans of course. And that was another thing that bothered Saben. Humans, and their arrogance. There were a few handfuls of them who still didn't know about the existence of other species, despite living in the city where it all started.

Lucien pressed himself closer to the wall as Saben appeared, as if that would make him invisible. for once in his life he wished he weren't human..he wished he were a Shifter..able to blend in with his surroundings. No such luck though.. he was a human today and forever...if he had a forever, which didn't seem likely at this point. Still he took a stance, something that may have been a snarl on his face. Though while he was trying to act all brave and fierce at this moment, really he scared out of his witts. Who wouldn't be? He tried his best to hide it though and waited for some kind of move from the demon. I-if you think I plan on dieing today, t-then you're wrong!"
Though the move the demon did make was the worst kind. He felt a hot searing pain in his hand, and glancing down at the knife he realized it was on fire! The first reaction was to drop it, but he forced himself to hang on to it, no matter how painful it may be. It wasn't so much he was trained for this..but more that he had too, right now it was all he had. Looking back up, he made a charge for the demon, slashing, stabbing, despratley, wildly with the knife. He was trained to fight better than this...but all that training was against humans, either instructors or those he own age. he never had to fight for his life in a hand to hand combat situation, And fear and desperation pushed his training out the window for this moment. The pain in his hand grew, but adrenaline gave him enough strength to hang onto it. The want to live outdoing the pain the thing that could maybe save his life was causing him.

Saben kept the small flame going, seeing that the kid was still holding onto the blade. When he charged though, he chose to go with a rather daring move. Instead of moving, he simply stood there, and waited until the human was close enough. Then he put the flame out at the last second, and grabbed the kid by the wrist, pushing it to the side to try and keep the blade away. It was then that the move proved daring, as a portion of the knife nicked him in the side. It wasn't much, but Saben actually enjoyed the pain. Being somewhat of a sadomasochist, it put a smile on his face.
After that, he twisted Lucien's wrist around, once again trying to get him to let go of the blade. His foot then went to take out the kid's feet, hoping to knock him to the ground. "Can't do much when you're human, can you?" Saben asked, the question being more of a tease. This was proving to be all too easy for him so far, and if this was all the kid had, then Saben could kill him rather easily. But again, he didn't really favor killing his prey too quickly, unless he had to of course.
It was always more fun to savor the moment, and keep them alive for as long as possible. Although it was humorous for the victim to be human, it was also quite stressful. Humans were fragile. They died easily, and never seemed to last long. It was why Saben went after others as well. Humans got boring after awhile. For now though, he was having his fun with this one, and it amused him to watch him try and fight back. "Ever hear the term, resistance is futile?" Saben asked. "Well, it's true."
Lucien could try all he liked, but the demon knew that he'd only wear himself out. Not only was he human, but he was a kid. He likely wouldn't put up a good fight for too long, and that's what Saben was planning on.

The demon didn't move until the last second, grabbing his wrist, though his knife had still got hims on the side. But he didn't seem to care, in fact there was a smile n his face. His wrist was twisted in a rather painful fashion, and he cried out finally dropping the knife which had since stopped burning. His feet were then knocked out from under him and he fell to his knees, now left helpless with out his knife. He jerked and squirmed, trying to get away, at the same time trying to reach for the knife on the ground with his free hand, but not quite able to reach. He swallowed the lump that was rising in his throat.
He jerked again, but it wasn't any use, and just ended up making the position he was in more painful. Green eyes glared back up at the demon as he spoke about Resistance begin futile. " I-it doesn't mean I'm just going to lay down and die!" He spat. Again his words were allot braver than he actual felt at the moment as he tried to strike out at any part of the man he could reach with free and uninjured hand. Though he was probably right.. there most likely wasn't much use at this point.
