Things were starting to get a bit tough for Lev back at home. He'd been with Isabeau for a bit now, and was beginning to spend the night with her every so often. However, when he did, she never wanted him going off to work. He understood the concern she felt for him, but he also understood the concern she had for herself. Caid was still around, and Lev knew what had happened the first, and hopefully last time that Caid and Issy had met. He had to save her from the madman, and then comfort her after that whole incident. Who could blame the angel after something like that?
Despite that though, Lev never liked it much when she tried to hold him back from work. Today had been one of those days. He had allowed Issy to come over to his place, but as soon as he told her he had to leave for work that night, she tried to hold him back again. Now Lev was late, and he knew he was supposed to be meeting up with Lucien again. So after making the drive out to the park and getting out of his truck, Lev walked over to where he told the kid to meet him. Yet...no one was there.
His first instinct was that Lucien had left already, but wouldn't he have called to see if Lev was coming? That thought concerned him a bit, and he took a quick glance around at his surroundings. Then, he saw the smoke. There wasn't much, although something was definitely burning. It caught his interest, and Lev began to make his way over to where the smoke was. In only a few moments, he reached the alley, though stopped when he saw Lucien...with Saben accompanying him. If Saben was around, it was never a good thing, and Lev knew of that for sure. So his hand reached for the gun he had in a shoulder holster under his jacket. Normally, he wouldn't wear a jacket, but it helped to conceal weapons.
That being said, he then aimed the gun at Saben before speaking the simple word "hello", except he spoke it in Russian, and addressed Saben by name. He wasn't sure whether or not the demon spoke that language, but he just wanted to use a different way to get his attention.
OOC: I could get the Russian translation...but I'm too lazy. XD

Green eyes continued to glare up at the demon, but his struggles had ceased as he waited for another move, beginning to accept his fate. Forgetting the knife on the ground or his struggles to get free. They were useless at this point, as much as he wanted to win, he most likely wouldn't. " Whatever you're gonna do just do it!" He muttered, closing his eyes. As if waiting for the killing blow...though something told him his death wouldn't be that easy. This guy was insane...completely so. He'd probably torture him in some way shape or form...And that thought scared the kid to death..but he didn't have much of a choice at the point except to accept it. He as going to do die today no matter how much he fought it. All he had to do was just try to think of a happy place and hope his body would give out quickly.
One eye then cracked open at a voice, and then another too catch sight of a man standing at the end of the alley with a gun. He didn't think he'd ever be happier too see his mentor " Lev!"

Saben snickered at what the kid had to say. "Who said you'd have to do that?" He asked. "It's too simple. You could always struggle a bit, to make things more fun." After saying that, and seeing Lucien reach for the knife, Saben kicked it away and looked down at the kid. Then he lifted a booted foot, a placed it down on Lucien's chest. He only applied slight pressure, but he could easily break the ribs if he really wanted to. And now that he thought about it...it may not be such a bad idea to do so. As long as he didn't puncture any of the organs, it wouldn't be anything fatal.
Still though, broken ribs could hurt like hell, and pain was what Saben aimed for. Applying even more pressure, the demon was about to make his move before he was cut short by someone speaking. He had sensed a human near the alley, but had passed it off as someone walking by. Now he knew it was more than that. Taking his foot away from Lucien, Saben turned around to look at the hunter. "I guess you're here to play the hero, am I right?" He asked, his tone showing slight amusement.
However, Saben was only half amused at the situation. The other half of him was annoyed, especially when he saw the gun. Again, hunters always liked to use their toys, and they were never without them. And although Saben used guns himself, he much rather preferred blades. They often made for a slow kill, and weren't as messy as bullets could be. Not to mention that they allowed him to perfect his work...when it came to cannibalism. A knife let him carve around certain organs, and carve things out entirely.
So with his eyes on the hunter, Saben took a moment to step back so he could keep both of them in his sight. He would've had to admit though, he was in a bit of a sticky situation. If he did anything to Lucien, the other hunter was likely to shoot, and there wasn't much room to dodge in this alley. Saben didn't really fancy dying either, so maybe, just maybe, he'd let this one slide, and come back to play another time. For the time being though, he'd wait and see how things played out.

Lev kept his gun trained on the demon, his finger itching at the trigger. He wanted nothing more than to just shoot him, but he knew better. He had left his days of cold blooded murder back in the past, even though shooting Saben wouldn't really be cold blooded. He deserved it, and it was simply because Lev knew there were better ways to handle this. Not to mention the consequences that could come if he killed him. "Not necessarily the hero, but the one who gets rid of the annoying little freak." He said in response.
And from What Lev has heard in the past, he knew that Saben liked to play his own games. So to prevent it, he spoke once more to keep the demon quiet. "Go ahead, make a move. You don't have very many options. And if we make too much of a commotion, you and I both know who could very well show up." By that, he was speaking of Remy. The angel god always seemed to appear wherever there was too much trouble. Lev didn't want to see him, and he was certain that Saben didn't as well.
It would mean bad news for both of them, since Remy didn't like either. As far as the kid though, he'd probably be safe from the angel. Yet, Lev wasn't about to rely on his appearance. If he had to fight Saben himself, he was prepared to do so. He'd never fought him before, or even come across him really, but he managed to hear about him quite often. From those stories, he was able to determine that Saben didn't fight fair, so he was prepared for that as well. That being said, Lev walked further into the alley to get a better aim.
If he were to fire his gun, he wanted to make sure that the demon didn't make any sort of move that would put Lucien into harm's way. It wouldn't be the first time that a target had used someone else as a shield. And unfortunately, Lev's heard about hunters who have accidentally killed someone else, due to them not paying more attention.

He gritted his teeth as a foot was placed on his chest, crying out slightly as pressure was applied, his bone starting to creak and crack slightly. He grabbed the demons foot, as if he'd be somehow able to plush him off. Though the foot was removed before any bones could break completely. He took in a deep breath, wincing slightly as rolled over. Green eyes looked to Lev, it sure took him long enough to get here. Lucien then looked down at the hand that had held the knife while it was on fire, it was pretty nastily burn, already starting to blister pretty bad. He stretched out with his good hand, though winced slightly at the sharp pain in his ribs, trying to grab his knife in case he needed it. He stayed on the ground for now though. The Alley wasn't very wide, and if Lev had to shoot he didn't want to get in the way. He managed to give a little smile up at Saben " Told ya I didn't plan on dying today." Though once again his words were braver than he actually felt. Anything could happen at this point still.

He would've hated to admit it, but the hunter had a point. If there was enough trouble here for other people to notice, there was at least a fair chance that Remy could show up. And as much as Saben hated the angel, he had to fight back the urge to start trouble with him. He was specifically told by Kamiya to leave Remy be, and he didn't want to piss off Kamiya as well. If anything happened and something major sparked up between the two gods because of this, it would be Saben's fault. In no way did he want blame for that, so he went with what he was told, and tried to avoid Remy as much as possible.
"Hiding behind Remy for an excuse now, are we?" Saben said in an amused tone. It was unusual for a hunter to do such a thing, but he still found it amusing. Though again, he knew Lev had a strong point as well. He couldn't risk pissing Remy off. And just as he was about to say something else, he heard the kid speak. Switching his glare back over to him for a moment, Saben wasn't pleased with what Lucien said. "Maybe not today, but you will eventually. Hopefully we can meet again sometime."
With that, he took a few steps closer to Lev, not even really caring about the gun he held. "Same goes to you. I'd love to show you just how damn weak you hunters are." A smirk crossed his face again at that point, since he was certain that could probably find both of them again. Then he turned around, and made his way out of the alley. No, he didn't get what he wanted, but there were others wandering about the city. So for now, he'd just have to stifle his hunger, and wait until he found another person.

Lev wasn't phased in the slightest by Saben's threats. He's dealt with enough people like him in his lifetime, and he didn't see him to be any different. Of course, what Saben was known for still disgusted him, but phase him? Not at all. So once the demon was gone, Lev walked over to Lucien and offered him a hand to help him get up. "Sorry for being late." He said to him. "Sorry" probably wasn't much, considering that the kid came close to death. But this was a bit of Lev's sarcasm as well. He knew sorry wasn't much, and while he meant it for the most part, the other part was a joke.
"My girlfriend, she didn't want me leaving." After what she'd been through though, he couldn't blame her. It was just that it sometimes got quite annoying when she tried to stop him. Work was something he had to do, whether either of them liked it or not. It got him their money, and if she was going to move in with him as she said she would, he'd have to spend more. Not that he minded. "You're alright though, yes?" Lev added in. It didn't appear that Lucien was too badly injured, aside from some sore ribs and a burned hand.
And when he saw that hand, he nodded towards Lucien. "If you'd like, I can take care of that for you." He had driven here in his truck, and in his truck was a first aid kit with some bandaging and other stuff. When he trained as an assassin, they also taught him first aid. That was only backed up by what The Union taught him as well. That being said, Lev took note of the fire that had been started in the alley. It was what caught his attention, although it wasn't too bad, so he had no worries about it.
His biggest concern was with Saben coming back, especially if Lucien was on his own again. He'd heard about how Saben was, often stalking people and attacking the weaker ones. If any such thing were to happen to Lucien, Lev would make sure to take care of it. The kid was a friend now, and Lev never let anyone mess with his friends. Especially cum like Saben.

He took the hand that was offered with his good one, wincing as he pulled himself up. Yeah his ribs hurt, allot. But the pain of his ribs and that of his hand sort of balanced each other out in an odd way. But the pain was probably worse than the actual damage. He would live in any case. He just honestly hoped that he wouldn't run into that other guy again anytime soon. Atleast not until he was equipped with something better than a little pocket knife. speaking of which, he bent down and picked it up, inspecting it, it was still usable, if only just. He flipped it closed, shoving it back into his pocket.
" Sorry for being late.
Yeah, like that'd fix the fact he almost died. But he didn't say anything. He'd most likely have to get used to near death experiences in the next few years. Also how to hold his own against stronger creatures like that demon. He was pretty sure the only reason he had stayed alive as long as he did was cause the demon was toying with him. And honestly, he hated the fact he had to be saved. Hopefully next time he ran into Saben, he'd be better prepared to handle a demon.
Burnt hand, hurt ribs. It could be worse. " I'm alive aren't I?" He answered the question with a slight smile.
He looked down at his hand. It probably should be taken care of. He just gave a little nod. " At least you showed up when you did. ."

After helping Lucien to his feet, Lev had to think back for a moment. In a way, it was a good thing that Saben often toyed with his victims before actually killing them. It gave them more time, but not everyone was in the same situation that Lucien had been. In his case, Lev was already on his way over. For others, who knew who would come? Likely no one, except Remy if he managed to find out somehow. Saben's threats though, had Lev a bit nervous. Not for himself, but for Lucien. More than likely, there was no way the young hunter in training could take on a demon like Saben. Saben didn't play fair, he took advantage of people's weaknesses, and he's been through his battles. He was experienced, which gave him even more of an upper hand.
Lev tried to push those thoughts to the back of his mind though, not wanting to think of the demon anymore. "Again, I'm sorry." Lev said. He had no way of knowing that Lucien was in trouble. The only thing that had put up a red flag for him, was the smoke from the fire, which was still burning at the moment. And speaking of it, Lev knew it could draw more attention. "We better go before anyone sees the smoke and comes to investigate." He didn't want to have any run ins with the police, and he surely didn't want any run ins with Remy.
So without allowing much more time to pass, Lev walked out of the alley and began heading back towards his truck. He didn't mind driving Lucien home, if that's where he wanted to go, and Issy would more than likely be pleased to see Lev home much earlier than usual. In fact, not even half an hour had passed since he left. So without having to head back to The Union, it'd be like him coming right back home. It was a relief, but again, Lev regretted not coming by here earlier, even though it wasn't really his fault.
Once he got to the truck, he stopped and looked at Lucien. "The most I can do for your hand at the moment, is put some water on it and give you some aspirin." He knew you weren't supposed to bandage burns, and he had a bottle of water and some aspirin. Now, having aspirin in your car might've seemed odd, but Lev had to deal with a lot of things that stressed him out. Stress often led to headaches, and that was why he had them in his truck.

Lucien shrugged " Well you came when you did." Which was better than him not showing up at all, which just as easily could have happened. He answered as he followed him. He briefly wondered where the demon had gone. Hopefully not after someone else, but that was sadly, probably the case. but it was the guys like him that were why hunters were needed. And the fact they were needed was why the 13 year old wanted to be one. While he had some qualms about the druids. he could already say if he ever had a chance to kill that guy, he wouldn't regret it.
The boy nodded, no matter who showed up, it'd be a tricky situation to explain. So he followed Lev to his truck. He should probably head home soon. Boy, this would be quite a story to tell Kirill. He'd probably just laugh at him.
" Thats fine." The aspirin, especially would be welcome as it'd hopefully take away at least some of the pain.
He stopped at the truck, suddenly remembered why he was out here in the first place. " oh yeah!" He exclaimed " I wanted to tell you I decided to go through with being a hunter!"
