ANOTHER PROMISE, ANOTHER SCENE

Hayley said getting up from her chair. ”So, where are we going? ‘Cause I do have a life outside of this place.”
Back to the same old game, nothing ever really changed anymore for Hayley. It was the same game being played by whatever assignment was thrown at her. Sometimes she wished that maybe someone else could’ve adopted her. Not that she didn’t like being a hunter, it gave her all that athletic abilities she has, but she just wasn’t into killing as other hunters were. Some of them were a little crazy when it came to hunting, but a lot of them were like her family. Sure, she enjoyed killing, but not crazy like, “haha! Beg for mercy!” No, Hayley wasn’t like that. She just wanted to get the kill over with. She made quick and simple. Hayley didn’t know why she was thinking about this when she was sitting out in the lobby of Bridgefield Union, the place she got her assignments from. Her brown hair was tied back in a loose ponytail, and she was wearing the normal attire for a day of hunting. A pair Capri’s, almost like shorts, and a lazy tank top. Some hunters thought she was weird because she didn’t wear leather and things like that. Hayley found it very uncomfortable to move around in leather when running from shadowy figures.
Hayley sighed, she wished that Lev would hurry up, and get here. He always seemed to take forever to get ready. Like he had to make sure he looked good before he went out to hunt. Sometimes it seemed that if hunters wanted their faces to be the last thing a species saw. Hayley didn’t understand that, it seemed weird. Why would you want something like that to have your face flashed in their mind when they’re dying. What would happen if they were like, reborn? They would grow up with a dim memory of some person killing them in the afterlife, and would want to know why they were killing them in the first place. Hayley just didn’t understand how some people worked, it was all so confusing sometimes. Hayley sighed, and toyed with her tank top. God, she hated this place. She hated her life sometimes. She wondered why she couldn’t be born into, oh gee, a NORMAL family. According her “parents” she had been born into a normal family until her father was murdered and her mother killed herself after they declared him dead. Well, didn’t she just come from a messed up family?
After twenty minutes of waiting on Lev’s sorry butt, she finally saw his figure walking down the hall. Hayley had never seen Lev in the romantic way, but more of the brother/father figure. Mainly a brotherly figure, since she had a dad already. ”Jesus Lev, how long does it take to get ready? My grandmother gets ready faster then you, and I don’t even know her,”
