You could say that Zane was far more interested in the history of the mortal humans than that of his own kind. That would be why he was spending his spare time on this day sitting in the Broad Street Library reading up on human history. Others have said that he should be more interested in his own kind than others, but he doesn't care. At the moment, he was sitting in a far corner, close to the human history books, reading about some war they had hundreds of years in the past. No wonder they felt the need to slot themselves into this war, one that had nothing to do with them. They were such a violent people, something that Zane didn't really like all that much, they always turned to violence to solve so many things.
He sat at a lone table, alone. He had the one book he was reading at the time open in front of him, sitting on the table. He had his ipod plugged in and in his ears, yes he had an ipod, he was trying to fit in after all. The music was loud enough to drown out most of the noise of the library, which really wasn't much, since it was a library. But it was also quite enough so that if someone was to talk to him, he would be able to hear them. He was considerate after all.

Kit was sitting in a chair curled up reading a book and she sighed as she finnished it. She needed to go find another one. She she got up and headed towards the fiction section and looked around for a while. She finally found one that sounded interesting. It was was filled with magic and different creaturs such as dragons and griffons and fairies. Everything was in here. Kingdoms hunting the creatures and them fighting back. And only a few want to live in peace. So they have to try and stop al the fighting. Of course you know that that is hard to do and she wanted to find out what happened so she started walking to her seat. She passed a table on her way back and she saw a guy sitting there with his I-pod in his ears. He was reading something and she smiled. She had never tried reading while listening to an I-pod. She had walked while reading and sat in really loud places to read but maybe he liked doing that.
She sat across from him and smiled. "Hi" she said hoping that his music wasn't so loud that he couldn't hear her. She held her book open to the fisrt page and was ready to start reading if he didn't answer her. And if he didn't then fine. She wouln't be really angry or anything. Somethimes when she was reading she didn't answer any one because she couldn't hear them. She tended to zone out when she read though.

Occasionally, Zane would look up from his history books and glance around the library, or what he could see of it anyway. There was nothing really interesting about a library, unless you were obsessed with books, because that's all you really saw, books, books and more, you guessed it, books. The angel wasn't all that interested in books, for the most part, it was what they contained really, he was somewhat curious, he liked to know things, even if it meant enduring an hour or so of absolute boredom. Zane sighed a little as he finished the page he was on. So the humans thought that dropping bombs on a city, or three, would fix the war and make it all better. It did, as he found out as he read the next page. Gosh, these people were so odd.
He finished that page and as he was turning the to read the next set of pages, he saw a girl approach him and sit across from him. Then she said hi, he wondered if he thought that he could hear her or not, since he had his head phones in his ears. he glanced up at her as she sat down, though she probably didn't see it, as she was most likely more focused in sitting down. But once she said spoke, he looked up with his entire head and replied. "Hey." He spoke with a smile. Putting the book that he was reading face down on the table, he looked her over, not in a creepy or a sexual way, she looked far younger than he, also considering he was over two hundred years old. He could tell that she wasn't quite human, but he wasn't too sure what she was. Of cause, he'd be able to tell id she was one of the hunter-made beings, but there was no mark on her. Once he decided that she was not going to hurt him, since she would have done it already, or so he thought. He smiled again, and glanced around.

Kit smiled as he spoke. So it wasn't that loud then. She closed her book and set it down on the table. She glanced at his book and raised an eye brow. "You like history then?" she asked looking up at him. "I prefer the fiction books." She shruged. Every one was different. "I'm Kit Bennett." she said with a kind smile. She liked making friends and he was nice. Or rather, seamed to be nice so that made him alright in her books. Well, unless he did something to say that he wasn't a good person.
She looked around a bit as well. She did that sometimes. Looked around every once in a while. She never knew why. Just to make sure everything was alright and nothing bad was happening maybe. She really had no clue. She just did. She shruged it off and looked back at him. She started tapping her feet lightly. There she went again! She had the habbit of not being able to sit still and fidgeting all of the time. She mentaly sighed but she didn't stop tapping her feet. That would mean that she would start moving in a different way such as tapping her fingers or something like that.

He kept a smile on his face as she spoke. It was then, in the middle of her speaking, that he realised that he still had his headphones in. In his opinion that was rather rude of him, and well surely it would be rude in lots of people's opinions. He quickly took them out, but not to look as if he was rushing it, but did it casually, and kept that friendly smile on his face. "Uh, yeah." He said as he glanced down at the book he had placed on the table. "It's quite fascinating really. But I still can't figure why the humans always resort to fighting." As soon as he spoke, he realised that he may have just slipped up when it came to his human disguise. He kind of hoped that she didn't pick up on it, but then at the same time he did, just so he knew that she wasn't going to hurt him or anything.
He gave a little sigh that was almost unnoticeable. "Zane." He said in reply to her introducing herself. He extended his hand across the table for her to shake, if she wanted to. He struggled to find something to talk about, a conversation starter. He resorted to something about books, since they were in the library and there were books everywhere. "What kind of books do you like?" He used his hands as he spoke, waving them around a bit. Every time he did it, he felt that he looked like an idiot and stopped for a while, but it just started up again as soon as he forgot about it, or thought that he had it under control.

Kit chuckled slightly when he said, 'Uh, yeah. It's quite fascinating really. But I still can't figure why the humans always resort to fighting.' Well it was official. He was most certaintly not human. And that left, angel, demon, or vampire. But the vampire was ruled out from the begining. He didn't look like a vampire so that meant that he was an angel or a demon. She hesitaited as she thought of telling him that she was an angel. If he was a demon then she was in trouble.
She quieted her thoughts. If he was then she would high tail it out of there. It wasn't really all that hard to do. Make a bee line for somewhere. She had a feeling that it would be fine. "Dont' worry about it. Humans are quite strange. I can't figure them out really. I'm an angel so I won't hurt you. Well as long as you don't pose a thread I wont anyway." She smiled and then answered his other question. "Fiction books." she pushed her book towards him. "Dragons, fights, magic, princesses, that sort of stuff is my favorite. But i like any fiction really." She shrugged. that was what she liked and that he liked history.

Zane eyed her with an questioning look, but nothing that would make her uneasy or question what he was thinking about. As she was speaking and began referring to humans as humans, he raised an eyebrow and looked right at her. His greatest fear was that she was a demon and would try to kill him. He really hoped not, that would really ruin his day, week and everything, especially if she succeeded. But then when she came out saying that she was an angel, he sighed quietly. He had a bit on tension inside him from worrying that she was going to end up being a demon. He was quiet relieved that she one of his own, but that still didn't mean that she was good, or a friend, though she didn't seem to pose any sort of threat. Zane actually found it quiet easy to talk to her, which was somewhat rare since he found it hard to talk to people quite a lot, unless he knew them.
He smiled when she finished speaking, "I'm not going to be a threat unless you somehow make me feel threatened. And then I don't think I'd be anything to be frightened of." He gave out a little chuckle. He smiled at what she said next, about the type of books she liked. "You have a great imagination then?" Zane asked. "Because all that stuff's pretty cool." he ran a hand through his hair, he was debating on whether he should tell her what he is, he didn't know if she was one of those good angels or one of those that turned their backs on their own kind.
"Personally, fiction annoys me just a little. I prefer things based on fact, or books like this," he motioned to the book he had sitting face down on the table.

((tis fine rusty i have been a bit busy and such so its all good))
Kit smiled at him. "Well that's good to know." she said to his comment about not being a threat unless she threatened him. at his next words she smiled and nodded. "I like to hink that I have a great imagination. You kind of have to to read that hind of books I read. I mean they give you discriptiond yes but you really have to have an imagination to actually see what is going on. I can see everything happening in the book when I read it. I guess that's why I zone out so much when I read. I often times become oblivious to everything a round me. I could be in the noisiest place in the world and not notice any of it. Or I could.. It just depends." She shruged.
When he said that fiction books annoyed him because he liked books based on fact she chuckled slightly. "Well Hisroty books annoy me. They bore me to tears. I love my fiction and it entertains me. But everyone is different." She brushed a few strands of hair that had fallen over her eyes away from her face and looked at his book. "So what exactly are you reading?" she asked.

He smiled, he was beginning to think that she really wasn't a threat, since if she really wanted to hurt or kill him, she could have done it already. He had this safe feeling around her, he didn't know why, though it probably had everything to do with her being an angel. When she was talking about her imagination and how you kind of needed one like hers to read the kinds of books that she does. "True, maybe that's why I can't really get into them all that often." He scratched his head slowly as he paused in his speech, then he continued. "I blame it on living here, it's hard to have a decent imagination when they things of most people's imaginations are living and breathing all around you." Zane smirked a little as a thought came to mind. "So you could be reading and really into it, zoned out, and someone could be shooting people off to the side and you wouldn't even notice?"
A small chuckle came from him as said that history books bore her to tears. "Oi, don't insult the history books." He smirked a little as he spoke, he was joking, he really didn't care if she hated them. "They have feelings too you know." This time he let out a laugh, really giving away that he was joking. Then she asked what it was that he was reading. He glanced down at the facing down, open book. Zane shrugged, "something about some war that the humans had back in the day, about two hundred years ago. It's kinda weird reading about something that happened when I was only sixteen." As soon as he finished speaking, he realised that he had just, in a way, told Kit that he wasn't human. But he was sure that she would have figured that out already, since he could sense that she wasn't human either.
notes, bleh! sucky post alert!
