From the moment he left in the morning, Issy missed him. It had been a pleasant surprise to find that he had taken a few days off of work to be with her and Markov, after their two-day stay in the hospital. She loved having him with her when she went to sleep, and when she woke up; and then there was having him around to help her with Markov, and things around the house, during the day. Having him around in general, for more than a few hours at most, was what she enjoyed the most, though. His constant presence cured the longing she felt whenever he was off at work. She had grown used to having him around, despite it only lasting a few days, and the minute he walked out the door she felt a dramatic shift in the air. Their home felt slightly empty without Lev, and it was most certainly quieter, but she wasn't at all lonely.
Markov remedied her aching for Lev as soon as he woke, and she was swift to scoop him up and hold him in her arms; her baby was something she couldn't get enough of, and probably never would be able to. Having him in her arms was something that would never get old, and each time she looked at him her love for him only seemed to flourish, which didn't seem at all possible. His needs were quick to capture her attention, aiding in distracting her from Lev's absence; and whenever he slept, she was far too busy studying him to think of much else. With his chubby little cheeks, big blue eyes and tiny, fragile feet, he was truly the most amazing, and beautiful, thing she ever saw; the fact that he was hers still blew her mind and warmed to her to the core. Surely, nothing would ever come close to being as perfect as their baby.
She briefly napped at some point in the day, and tidied up here and there during one of the few times Markov himself napped; it was only around four or so in the afternoon that she started to feel the familiar ache in her chest, and she began to feel impatient to the point of throwing glances at the clock only to see that a minute or two had passed when it felt as though an hour went by. To busy herself, she scurried to the kitchen and prepared, and cooked, dinner for Lev, despite not knowing just when he'd be home; she didn't know when to expect Lev home, which only made her flail more inwardly. As swift as the ache came on, Markov's cries were quick to capture her undivided attention and she excitedly, and lovingly, took to tending to him. Following a bath, Issy fed Markov and in due time he was sleeping once more. Swaddled up nice, warm and tight in a soft, blue blanket, she gently cradled her baby to her as he slept, not able to bring herself to set him in his cradle. Impatience washed down her body as she already couldn't wait for him to wake up and need her.
Issy smiled lovingly down at her son as she rocked back and forth in the rocking chair set up in Markov's nursery, truly unable to set him down as she softly brushed her finger along his cheek and glanced out the window for a brief second. The sky lingering outside the windowpane was a startling shade of red and orange, yellow fingers reaching up and streaking through the clouds. As long and slow as it seemed, she still couldn't believe that the sun was already setting; her day might have seemed mundane and boring but to her it was nothing short of amazing, and it surprised her that it was already almost to an end. Excitement prickled along her insides, however. While she was unable to see the time, the setting sun was indication enough that Lev was soon to be coming home: it was just a matter of time. t a g Lev w o r d count 679 n o t e Eeee! It was nice to be able to get off work for awhile and have some free time. The best part about it though, was spending time with Issy and his newborn son. They were the best thing to happen in his life, and Lev knew he'd never be able to get enough of them. He could spend hours with Markov, but it would only seem like minutes. Once Lev left for work this morning though, he already felt himself missing his son. In only a matter of moments, he couldn't wait until the end of the day were he could come home and see both Issy and Markov. Lev knew that time would likely pass by slowly for the first few days, but eventually, he'd get used to going to work and leaving Markov at home with Issy. For now, he'd just have to take things as they came. And that was exactly what he did for the most part. The day had been long for him, but he was wrapping everything up at The Union, and gathering all of his stuff to go home.
Once he had what he needed, Lev made his way out to his truck and got in. He was thinking about calling up Issy and letting her know that he was one his way home, though he figured she probably already knew. He promised her that he'd come home on time for the next few days so that he could help out with Markov. And he really meant it this time. Usually, he came home late because his boss forced him to work some extra hours...but not tonight. Tonight, he was going to be home with what was the start of a family to him. However...seeing them wasn't the only thing he was looking forward to. Earlier, while on his way to work, he purchased an engagement ring for Isabeau. Lev felt that now was the right time to ask her "the big question", and he hoped that she'd approve.
So now that he was in his truck, he pulled out the ring and the box from his pocket, and set it aside. He'd taken it with him into work, but locked it up to make sure it was safe. He didn't want to leave it in the truck, nor did he want to leave it at the store. It would take time away, and again, he said he'd be home on time. So he pulled away out of the parking lot and began the drive back to his place. The drive seemed like forever as well, but eventually, Lev came into the driveway and parked the truck. Then he walked up to the front door, unlocked it, and went inside. Issy wasn't within site, but he knew that she was more than likely in the nursery with Markov. That thought sent him walking that way, and Lev gave a light knock on the door to let Issy know that he was there. He then walked in and made his way over to the cradle and looked over at Markov. "How has he slept?" Lev asked. [/justify][/blockquote]

After a few minutes of staring out the window, Issy dropped her eyes to her sleeping baby and smiled lovingly down at him. She didn't want to stir him, nor did she entirely want to put him down, but she could feel her arm growing slowly numb and knew that it was only a matter of time before she wouldn't be able to feel below elbow; with a reluctant sigh, Issy slowed her gentle rocking and bit at her lip as she ever so slowly rose from the rocking chair and quietly stepped toward Markov's cradle. Leaning over the side, she hesitantly laid Markov down and stepped back. Already she missed his tiny body in her arms, but she knew it would only be a few, short hours until he woke up. Already finished with cleaning, as well as cooking Lev's dinner, she was at a loss of what to do with herself and so she settled herself down in the rocking chair and took to once more looking out the window.
She watched the light slowly fade from the sky, the clouds losing their bright and startling colours as night crept over the city, and her excitement grew the the darkening sky. No sooner had she thought of Lev coming home soon, she heard the front door open and close, followed by the sound of footsteps. Her heart fluttered wildly inside her chest as she let out a relieved breath: Lev was home. Seconds later, the nursery door opened and she was hit by the familiarity of his wondrous, comforting scent and she rose from the rocking chair as Lev made his way toward the cradle. Issy walked the few short steps to the cradle; her arm brushed lightly against Lev's as she came to stand beside him, following his gaze as he looked toward Markov.
“He's slept fine all day. In fact, it is the most he has done all day besides eating... We missed you.” Issy replied quietly, tearing her eyes from their son for a moment to glance at Lev. Having him so close to her once more made the ache she was barely aware of completely diminish, and seeing him brought her more happiness than she could ever be able to explain, and describe; what she felt for Lev, since giving birth to Markov, seemed to have multiplied by an unmeasurable, uncountable, and incomprehensible number. She was more than aware she had missed him during the day, but just how much only seemed to dawn on her as she momentarily studied Lev. A small smile played across her lips and she looked away, back to Markov, as she felt a light blush dust across her cheeks, like some silly schoolgirl with an even sillier crush. “How was your day?” t a g Lev w o r d count 463 n o t e - l y r i c s seal Kiss from a Rose t e m p l a t e made by LiLi

Being in the presence of Markov, or even just the nursery, brought joy to Lev. All the stresses of work and other issues that he had, all seemed to fade away. They didn't matter to him too much at the moment. All he cared about was Issy and Markov. They were the pride and joy his life, and gave him all new meaning. Back before he ever met Isabeau, there wasn't all too much going on besides work. It was all he ever focused on for the most part...but it wasn't like that anymore. Now he could come home and have a family to look forward to. A few of the other hunters at The Union had that as well, but Lev never got to experience for himself until now. No one had really even expected it from him either. Lev was upon as the guy who wasn't all too social. Sure, he had his friends that he worked with, but they were the only ones he talked to much. The people at The Union were shocked when they found out that Lev was dating, yet alone had a son now.
At first, they didn't believe him, but it was all true. And Lev loved coming home to Markov, and his girlfriend, which was soon to be his fiance. "That's good to hear." Lev said when Issy told him that their baby had slept fine all day. "And it was pretty busy for me. Same old, same old. Everything seemed to go by slower now that we have a baby that I can come home to as well." It was likely a good time for him to lead into his proposal, since Lev had been planning it ever since Markov's birth. He wanted incorporate their baby into it some and talk about starting something new. So Lev looked directly at Issy and smiled some. "But with a son and a girlfriend, I was interested in bringing us closer to family." And with that, Lev finally reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring before opening the display box. Then he did as any man did in his situation, and lowered himself to one knee. "Issy, will you marry me?"
It might not have seemed like it, but it was a bit hard for Lev to get those words out. He'd been anticipating it for so long, and now he was about to get an answer. Lev hoped that his nervousness wouldn't intervene with her since she could sense him, and he tried to calm himself as best he could. Though despite his calm look, he was still nervous to all hell inside. The odd thing was, none of the nervousness came from her father. He wasn't all too worried about what Remy's reaction would be once he found out about this. Lev was used to the angel god trying to pry them apart and disapproving of numerous things. He knew Remy wouldn't like it, but such a thing was to be expected. If the angel didn't approve of this either, so be it. Lev would still be with Issy, whether Remy liked it or not. Issy turned her eyes back to Lev as he spoke, and she blinked sympathetically at him when he said his day had been pretty busy. It wasn't surprising, and she hadn't expected anything different, but she still felt slightly for Lev that his day had been busy, if not hectic, as she knew it always was. She had been hoping that his boss would ease him back into working, but she didn't get her hopes up and it was a good thing; she silently scorned his boss, but it was hard for her to concentrate on her hate when she not only had Lev, but Markov as well. She felt too much happiness and warmth to allow negativity to cloud her mind, and she quickly let go of her grudge; at least Lev was home now, where he wouldn't have to be busy nor be bothered by anything.
She rose a curious brow as Lev spoke of bringing them closer as a family and she cast her eyes back to Markov; it never occurred to her that they could get any closer, and she pondered what he meant. Her mind immediately shifted to the prospect of getting an animal, and she inwardly snorted; while she loved animals, with Markov being so young and fragile she wasn't sure an animal, no matter the size, would be a good idea. She wouldn't be able to trust an animal with her baby, when they could so easily harm him, and she wasn't about to let an animal into her heart and home when there was a possibility that it wouldn't be permanent; she wouldn't do that to animal. Lost in her immediate objection to a pet, she was unaware of Lev's movement beside her and she didn't notice him reach into his pocket; but she did notice the larger movement of him shifting beside and she turned to face him in time to see him go down on one knee: a sight that brought her heart to a dead stop.
It was more than obvious that he wasn't talking about getting a pet now, but something much grander and something she wasn't at all expecting. Tears brimmed her eyes as Lev's lips formed the four words she only imagined Lev asking in her dreams, and the second he asked her to marry him she allowed herself to finally breathe; her chest felt tight from oxygen deprivation, as well as from the tears that threatened to spill from her eyes. Crying was one thing, above all, she hated doing in front of others and more often than not she was able to contain herself, but Lev, it seemed, crumbled any defense she managed to put up: and that was one of the many things she loved about him. He made her emotional, in the most wondrous ways, and was one of the only people to actually make her feel weak in the knees with one look, and at this very moment she felt as if he legs were made of putty as the blush that had only moments before dusted across her cheeks deepened.
Lev was her World, without a doubt, and had been for a long while; even before she accepted her feelings for him, she held him above everyone else, sometimes even her father. When she was with him, regardless of their fights, she felt at home, and whether or not he knew, it felt as if she had been waiting for him all her life. The moment she had met him, she had felt some sort of unexplainable spark, as if being lightly jolted awake. To her, Lev was the one and no one would ever come close to what he meant to her; she was more than certain that she'd love him until the day she stopped breathing, regardless of what happens along the way.
Issy could feel the nervousness rolling off of Lev as she looked down at him, the tears in her eyes finally breaking lose as she blinked and smiled lovingly at him; he had no reason to be nervous, as there wasn't a doubt in her mind that marrying Lev was the right thing to do. There was no other answer for her other than 'yes'. Not even her father could stop her, if he dared to try, which was more than likely; but her father didn't matter, and he was easily pushed from her thoughts as she nodded her head, finding it difficult to speak as her throat tightened further, but she managed to swallow the cry. “Yes, Levy, I will marry you.” Her voice was small as she answered Lev, for more reason than the fact that she was trying not to turn into a blubbering mess; Markov was still asleep, and she feared waking him. t a g Lev w o r d count 803 n o t e - l y r i c s seal Kiss from a Rose t e m p l a t e made by LiLi

Lev knew right off the bat, that Issy wouldn't say no. However, the thought still lingered in the back of his mind. Was it too early to ask? Would she get nervous and have to leave? He surely hoped not since he's seen it happen before, but again, he doubted it would. Issy didn't seem like the type who would run off on him, even if she didn't mean to. So with that thought in mind, it eased him some as he waited for her answer. Once the words had escaped his mouth, time seemed to stop, only to draw on forever. What was likely only a few moments, seemed like an eternity to him. And then, he finally heard Issy. When she said yes, an immediate weight was lifted from his shoulders. What was greater than that though, was the joy he felt. Upon her saying "yes"...it was more than just an answer. She was agreeing with him in starting a family and taking their relationship one step closer.
By the time Lev got married, Markov would likely be able to do a few things on his own. Sure, he'd be young, but he wouldn't be a baby like he was at the moment. And now that Lev had proposed, the wedding was the next thing he was looking forward to. He wanted to make it something special, not one of those cheaper ones where stuff rarely happened. What Lev pictured, was one of those massive weddings. The ones with lots of people, some music, and some refreshments as well. However, he didn't want it to be something that everyone knew about. Again, there were certain people, such as the ones at his work, that he didn't want finding out. If Lev's boss found out who he was dating, it wouldn't turn out very well. Getting into trouble for it wasn't what Lev needed now that he had a child to take care of.
For the time being though, Lev wasn't going to worry about it. All of his attention was on Issy, and the answer she had given him. So he then took her left hand before sliding the ring onto her ring finger. From there, he stood back up and embraced Issy in a hug. Lev's nervousness had faded away completely now, replaced by joy. And after a moment or two, he slightly pulled away from the hug to put his lips to Issy's. It was a quick kiss, but it still had a lot of meaning behind it. Now that Issy had agreed to getting married, this had become one of the best days of Lev's life. She was no longer his girlfriend, but rather, his fiance. Earlier, just the thought of it was enough to bring a smile to Lev's face. He didn't have to dream about it any longer though. It was now reality.
