Alleys were not the greatest places to hide in. One never knew who or what could be lurking about there with you and to those that didn’t know their way around they stretched out like an endless maze. But Akeelah could not afford to be picky, in fact she shouldn’t even be here at a time like this, but she didn’t have much of a choice in the matter. She was too exhausted to move another step. She had been on the move the moment that creature she had fought fled. She did not stay in that building after that, she could not risk it. There was no way of knowing if that man would try to hunt her down again once the sunset. She suspected that he would, he seemed like the prideful type who could not live with the fact that he lost to the young shifter and no doubt would be back to get even. So with the day time advantage Akeelah tried to distance herself from that place, covering her tracks while moving in her feline form so she would be harder she had a good idea of the predatory mindset so she knew what he was going to look for and did what she could to cover herself. It had taken more than half the day just to get where she was and now exhaustion was starting to take its toll. It wasn’t just because of a lack of sleep or the fight before but even before her confrontation with that creature she had been running away from some human she had stolen from, and that had happened moments before the struggle she still had not looked through the wallet yet, but she had no time for that yet. Akeelah leaned against a wall to catch her breath. She needed to stop moving for a moment and conserve her energy. At least she was sure that no one followed her here this time. She had wandered into this place in her feline form before returning to her human form, so unless someone with either a keen sense of smell could tell what she really was or someone that knew her well enough saw her it was unlikely that anyone would notice let alone follow a seemingly stray cat into an alley. For now she was safe, “Stupid freak attacking out of nowhere.” She growled in annoyance. Just what was that thing anyway? She had never seen anything like that before. It must be something new that the hunters created, they did after all had the shifter race but most of the other supernatural races out there, all of which they were trying to murder. Really, the hunters had to be the dumbest people in existence. They had already screwed up in the past messing around with creating new life and they just had to try again. What were they thinking?! Sadly taking out her frustrations on those stupid humans wouldn’t get their brand new monstrosity off her back. For the time being she had other more pressing problems to deal with than their stupidity. Forcing herself to get off the wall, Akeelah took off her hoodie, hissing in pain and lifted up her top below her chest to assess the damage she took from the fight. Just as she thought her ribs were in bad shape. Her whole side had turned black and blue from the kick that bastard gave her. It probably grew worse since she had moved around so much. Early on it had not been so bad, since the adrenaline from the battle had overrun her system it had helped to dull the pain but now with that gone the injury hurt a lot more. She poked it lightly to see just how bad it was. As painful as it was it didn’t feel like they were broken, a small relief if nothing else. Besides her ribs though Akeelah emerged out of the ordeal otherwise unharmed. Things could have been much worse. Within a week or less the pain would be gone and it wouldn’t be much of a handicap. Broken bones though were a lot worse, if they weren’t attended to properly and fast they would heal wrong and leave her disfigured. It also meant more time she would have to live without being able to hunt or steal. That for her was like a death sentence; with no one to turn to at a time like that she would starve to death before she could heal. A few cuts and bruises were a blessing compared to that. Akeelah pulled her shirt back down and slumped to the floor. Where was she anyway? She hadn’t been paying much attention to where she was going; only covering her tracks so she wasn’t sure if she had been in this place before. Akeelah looked up into the sky to gauge the time, the sun was still shining brightly in the sky which was good, it meant that she still had time before sunset to find a place to stay. All she needed to do was lay low for a few days; maybe a week at most till that thing gave up on her. So she needed to hurry up and get moving. Too bad her legs didn’t seem to agree with her. Akeelah sighed, fine I’ll stay here for five minutes then go. Five minutes of rest wouldn’t hurt right? Her stomach growled loudly and she gave another heavy sigh. She had not eaten all day and probably wouldn’t for the next few days. Where did she go so wrong that her luck was so bad lately? Her life was always filled with ups and downs, especially with her current lifestyle that wasn’t very surprising. But since coming to this city she had been caught stealing twice and encountered some of the most unsavory creatures that crawled the earth. Times like this made her feel scared and alone, but now was not the time to focus on that fear. If she let those feelings consume her she would be dead. No matter how hard her life was she had struggled too long to give up now. The sound of footsteps reached her ears and in an instant she was on full alert. Crap, who the hell was that? Whoever it was was too close to where she was so shifting to hide was a no go. Even though she wanted to her body was too tired to pull it off. For a moment Akeelah froze, just listening to the sound just hoping that it would go away but it didn’t. With a low growl of frustration Akeelah forced herself bock onto her feet, tying her hoodie around her waist. If she had to run for it she didn’t want to leave it behind. It still had the wallet she swipe last night in the pocket. “Who’s there?” she called out, silently praying that it wasn’t someone dangerous. ______________________________ Tagged: Whoever jumps in =p Outfit: Black hoodie, white tank top and jeans Notes: I really did not expect this post to be this long @_@ Also takes place after Somewhere to hideWords: 1187

The day so far had been remotely pleasant, although little in the way of anything had happened in fact nothing exciting had happened, but Patch knew it was simply a matter of time, anything here beat anything that happened on Pandorum which was pretty much nothing for that matter. Currently Patch was out on one of his odd occasions when he would go for a gentle stroll he had just turned onto Heman street which wasn't really all that appealing having just come from a small cozy cafe. Still it didn't bother him, he could handle himself quite well in his opinion, a day had passed since the meeting with the all famous Remy, and Patch had made it perfectly clear for what he wanted, and he didn't care what Remy said even though he knew he would probably only regret it at a later date. Yawning softly, his hands buried deep into the leather pockets of his jacket he strolled on. Glancing around now and then at the odd sound of footsteps, and the odd scatter of dustbin lids. Pausing by an alley a sound caught his attention it sounded like a cat, and he saw a cat flee, but the way it moved seemed different somehow. Frowning lightly his black eyes looked into the darkness that encased the small alley, moving forward not even partly afraid of whatever lay waiting, or sat waiting.
Patch walked into the darkness his eyes adjusted swiftly with a blink he still couldn't get over how keen his vision was, and what? he had been like this for nearly 160 years? Pausing a fraction he listened to the sudden tone of voice it wasn't one he recognized, then again why would he recognize it? Stupid freak attacking out of nowhere. The comment that left who ever it was mouth made hims smile, a female. One with fire too, that was his type of girl all round. Amused he carried on footsteps sounded softly as he walked the sounds a head had quietened down dramatically. Where had she gone and how come there was no obvious sign of just where she hand vanished to, none the less as he wondered he could not help but hold a firm grudge against the high ranking question of course Patch wasn't expected to be granted his wish, but he would find a way, was it possible? There had been rumors about a book, much like the bible only, different so to speak, many called in the book of Enoch, the question was, did he, or should he believe it? As he pondered this and possible ways, he eventually slowed when he heard the steady, breathing of a female and with it her question the area around her.
Rolling his eyes he approached, really the last thing you wanted to do was let a potential mugger, know your there, and where you are, not that he was a mugger or rapist and that, but still the point was there. His boots thudded slightly on the floor as he approached the female, stepping into her view, Patch folded his arms across his chest, he wore a simple blue denim jacket, and a white vest top, it wasn't all the cold despite the lack of sun. "I hope you weren't referring to me, I maybe a freak but I'm not stupid, and I wasn't going to attack you." he laughed softly as he stepped closer and came to stand before her, his black eyes glanced her over, and he noticed the small bloodied wounds, and the obvious limp in her leg, simply by the way she held herself it was clear she was injured. "Hmm I'm guessing by your labored breathing your clearly running from someone, or something." he glanced around the only ones present was he and the female before him. "Why are you running you must of really pissed a guy off, if you run." he stated the obvious although at that moment could not care less.
With a small shrug he glanced around nothing, maybe she was just paranoid or deranged? both being the possible no doubt. He looked to the girl for a moment, "No offense but you look like shit.." he again said as Patch added. "Theres a B n' B not too far away, it's not great but it's somewhere to sleep, and it's pretty secure..suprisingly."] He mused as he smirked, his expression amused, it wasn't often he came across a girl in obvious distress, he personally wasn't the type to rescue girls, usually he would try and let them work it out them selves, If they still couldn't the he supposed he had better help them, he seemingly had a knack for finding people in trouble, perhaps it as the whole Angel thing going on for all he cared. Most of the time, each person he saved wasn't at risk of their life, so he would avoid the whole 'save a life and get your wings back' business, he really didn't wish to return back there Although Patch knew all to well at that moment that what he did, where he went everything was being kept a tab on, and that was what annoyed him the most, could a guy not have any privacy?

For a moment she was greeted with silence which did nothing to please her mind. She had already announced her position to whoever was lurking about. Naturally doing something like that wasn’t the brightest idea in the world but there weren’t a lot of places to hide here and she was too tired to shift. The chances were if whoever was lurking about they probably saw her anyway so hiding was a no go. If that was the case then she rather face the bastard head on than lay in wait for them to pounce. Soon the lurker made his appearance known, announcing that he was not a threat. Even then she still looked at him suspiciously, based on what he said he had spotted her awhile ago; his intuition was also quite accurate which annoyed her. Though she had to admit that by the way she looked it was all too obvious what kind of trouble she was in. Still, that wasn’t something she wanted everyone to know.
“What I do is none of your business.” She growled instinctively the moment the question about why she was on the run came about. Denying him answers did not do much beyond preserving what little pride she had left. Was this guy trying to pull some good Samaritan act or did he have some less than good intentions? Her past two experiences with men in this city have been less than friendly especially the last one and she would not be surprised if this turned out to be like all the others. She doubted that though, given her condition and their location if this man really meant trouble he would have attacked her by now, there was no need to trick her first. Again he spoke, this time suggesting a place to stay for awhile. Yeah, he’s the nice guy type she thought, much better than what he could have been but still a pain in her ass all the same. “Geez, thanks for the complement.” She said sarcastically, “As tempting as that sounds I think that I’ll go somewhere else.” With that she turned to leave, nice guy or not Akeelah did not want his help it would only bring trouble on them both if that happened. That and it was a pride thing, Akeelah thrived on being independent and admitting that she needed help was admitting that she was weak. She couldn’t even admit that she couldn’t afford to pay for a B n’ B.

What I do is none of your business. The girl hissed, her tone defensive, he chuckled softly she was the feisty type. That was good. Patch smiled slowly as he watched her, his gaze steady he replied "No it's not my business, I don't recall asking you what happened, just stating the facts." he stated with a small shrug. It was clear in the girls eyes that she didn't trust him, and was certainly cautious, then again even he wouldn't trust himself if he came across him self in a dark alley. After telling her that she looked like hell, a smile flashed across his thin lips "Your Welcome"] he mused lightly, then when he commented about not wanting to go to the B n' B and go somewhere else, he shrugged once more it was her choice what she did although he had a funny feeling that the reason she didn't want to go was either because she couldn't afford it, or because he had suggested it. Rolling his dark eyes, he looked to the female. "I'm not going to kill you or anything" he added, none the less he continued.
"Suit yourself though, or you can back to mine, and I won't jump you." he laughed softly "But by the looks of it, you need a hot shower and sleep. Well offers are there, I have to be getting on. Can I give you a lift anywhere instead?" He offered, what was the matter with him, he was actually being nice. Either way that was his good deed done for the day he reasoned. At least he hadn't saved a life, only prevented suffering, which to him seemed good enough. With no immediate answer Patch shrugged, she would have to suit her self. Turning on his heel he saluted the girl before he slowly begun to walk away from the alley back into the bright surroundings of civilization. Although a dump as the place was, it was quiet enough and at least slightly bearable. Although the sights around were enough to actually hurt your eyes. Listening behind him he heard footsteps he didn't know if they belonged to the girl or someone else, but their sound was hurried, turning a fraction he saw another man looking around frantically, with a fairly annoyed looking expression on his face, maybe just maybe that was the man that had been chasing the girl he saw.
The man was human, that much was certain, his steps were clumsy and he seemed to be extremely out of breath. Curious he turned back around and watched the man scan the area before he continued to run on. Perhaps he could do something to at least allow the girl some time to go wherever it was she wanted to go, so as the man ran, and ran directly for Patch, Patch subtly stuck out his foot and the man was sent flying forward. After a moment later and of Patch's comments he was able to deduce that his wallet had been stolen, and he was looking for a girl who seemed to mark the match of the girl he had met moments ago. Ah, so she was a pickpocket as well? After saying he hadn't a clue where she went, and that she probably went in th complete opposite direction from where she was currently the man simply nodded and ran off, tires screeched moments later. Another deed done, if he wasn't careful he would almost enjoy helping. Which was something he really didn't want to make a habit out of.

She did not bother to answer the man but instead decided to turn away. As far as she was concerned she had already made up her mind to reject the offer. For good reasons too, first was simply her usual distrust in total strangers. Though at the moment, she didn’t think that this man was trying to trick her. Just the mere fact that he had not tried to take advantage of her in this state was proof enough of that. There was more to it than that though; she just didn’t want to get another person too involved in her affairs. There was a chance, though small, that the thing that had attacked her might trace her back to him and if he was a normal human then he was screwed. Was this guy human though? He looked the part but Akeelah knew better than to trust sight alone. Even if he wasn’t human she just did not want to depend on someone else, she had been taking care of herself all this time so why give that up now?
Eventually Akeelah heard him heading in the opposite direction and she breathed a small sigh of relief. Now he was gone and she could focus on finding a place to stay. Time was running out and she really could not afford to waste time trying to shake him off. Now the question was where would she go? The chances were she had stumbled onto new territory so finding some safe and abandoned place to hide in for a week would not be easy, especially in her current condition. That short break did nothing for her, in fact now her legs felt even heavier since she stopped moving. At this rate she might collapse before she could find such a place.
Maybe I should’ve taken up his offer after all.. she could not help but think. But what could he possibly do for her? If she had agreed to take him up on that lift she would have to admit that she had no money. What would he do then? He could not possibly be nice enough to help her there, but would there be any harm in trying? What the hell are you thinking you fool! she criticized herself, you already said no just give it up! There was no point in thinking about what she could have done and focus on what she should do. But her thoughts kept drifting back to the offer she was all too quick to reject. As prideful as Akeelah was she had to admit that she was desperate enough to need help. Akeelah stopped moving and glanced back behind her to where the guy had once stood. Her mind fighting between swallowing her pride or just move on with her life. Cursing herself for being an indecisive moron Akeelah went in the direction she thought the man left in. The man might have already gone too far from her reach but there was no harm in trying. If he wouldn’t help her out anymore then it would be a waste of her time but not too much so.
Luckily for her he had not gone too far away, maybe because he was busy dealing with someone else. By the time Akeelah dragged herself over to him the new arrival had already ran off. The guy that ran off looked vaguely familiar though that wasn’t saying much. She could have seen him out on the streets once or he just looked like someone she had seen before. There was a small chance though he could be one of the many that Akeelah had stolen from. The likelihood of that though weren’t high, even though the last person she had stolen from was last night the fool wasn’t that desperate to go searching for her all night long. Akeelah kept her distance though until the new comer was well out of sight. Once the coast was clear she took a step out of hiding but then she stopped. Though she had already made up her mind and ask for help she didn’t know how to go about it, and with her people skills she did not have the confidence to just stroll up to him and ask without sounding like an idiot.
Akeelah sighed again; there was no point in getting all choked up now. She walked up behind the man and poked him on the shoulder to grab his attention before he could walk off. “Say I don’t have a clue where I want to go and I have no money to stay in a motel for a night, what should I do then?” she asked.

As soon as the man had run off, he begun to walk once again, just as he was about to move he smirked as he head movement behind him and the scent of cinnamon, he knew without a doubt it was the girl he had met briefly moments before. Turning around as he felt a gentle prod, low and behold th girl stood, looking all to flustered, if not indecisive. When he looked to her he arched his eyebrow and waited, as she explained that she needed help in an indirect way at that. Patch chuckled softly "Then I would say there is no harm in asking, everyone needs help every now and then even if they don't want it." he shrugged idly and looked to her. "Basically you need help, so I suppose as I'm feeling nice I'll help you." He smiled lightly, silently her name came into his head he presumed directed from other angles, angles that were still his friend, up on Pandorum which was very few, still life down on earth was so much more entertaining and there were plenty of females to choose from other than the select few. "So, Akeelah..Do you live anywhere in particular? If you like your welcome to come back to mine, and stay a while. I'm not some deluded or deranged rapist so your safe..or safe enough" he grinned although there was a playful glint in his black eyes.
Turning around he motioned for her to follow him. "I parked a block away, if you don't mind the walk" He stated, turning around briefly he walked back wards and faced Akee, slowing his strides, Patch waited for the girl to catch up beside him, thrusting his hands in his pockets he continued to walk looking ahead, perhaps he should make light conversation at least to ease some of the girls obvious tension and mistrust. "You know If I wanted to hurt you, in your condition I would of done so already so you have nothing to worry about." He stated with a lopsided smirk that he flashed in her direction. "What are you doing in these areas anyway, there was a man chasing some one, who mentioned that he had seen a theft..something about a wallet" he commented looking to her, his expression simply, knowing almost. "You know he must be desperate to get that wallet..." he smirked once more before he looked ahead and rolled his shoulder to loosen himself up also. The air around felt heavy, thick with blood almost, death was around them and searching. He imagined it was something to do with this whole demon war thing going on, either way he didn't like it, yet he kept his expression neutral, the girl beside him had obviously been though hell and back, if anything he wanted to be off the streets at the moment.
The atmosphere was to heavy, too uncomfortable. Soon enough they reached the small parking lot, and Patch crossed the small lot and reached his motorcycle. Picking up his helmet he held it out for Akee to take. "Hope you don't mind a bit of a thrill" he mused as he then climbed on the bike, starting the engine he revved it a few times and looked to Akee. "I don't bite, and I haven't crashed yet" he teased lightly and rolled his eyes, it was a harmless gesture, offering a ride to someone who needed help, and offering some form of place to stay. The scary part was, he so far enjoyed helping, and that was one thing he refused to do. None the less what was done was done and there was no heading back. So the best thing he could do, was to go with it, and hoped there were no problems along the way. That was something he didn't need. "Personally, if were going I suggest we leave now, it feels like a storm coming, and I would rather be inside then out." He commented as he revved the engine again vaguely impatient, sure the girl probably was petrified, and didn't trust him, but if she wanted, food, and warmth then she had to make her mind up quickly because he wasn't going to hang around.

The man was surprisingly patient and laid back, not looking in the least to see her there or try to patronize her for her previous behavior. Once she admitted (indirectly of course) that she needed some assistance he easily agreed to it. Well, that went a lot better than she had expected. He smiled again and asked where she lived and if she would like to go to his place for the time being. For a second she didn’t register what he had said because of how he addressed her. Wait….how does he know my name? Akeelah thought suspiciously. She knew that she did not let her name slip to this guy during their earlier encounter; she had been too busy trying to brush him off to do that so how did he know who she was? It wasn’t possible that she had bumped into him in the past or else she would probably recognize her. Akeelah knew very few people and she wasn’t the type of girl that stuck out of the crowd for anyone to notice her, the likelihood of him knowing who she was wasn’t too good and yet he knew her name. It was enough to worry her a little but she didn’t know what to do about it, he claimed that he didn’t want to harm her and in fact didn’t let up till now that he even knew what he was. So unless he was a terrible liar who just slipped up he wasn’t much of a threat. The simplest way of dealing with this matter was just to turn around and leave; if he was really a threat then she just wouldn’t go with him. But time was running out and with nowhere to go Akeelah was in a tight spot, she had to think of something of something to do fast if she didn’t want to risk dealing with that monster from before.
He was already heading to the parking lot before she had the chance to answer so she just stayed silent. Fine she wouldn’t say anything yet and just go, she needed to get out of here anyway. She would ask him how he knew her name later though; there was no way that she would just let that slip under the radar. Silently Akeelah followed the man, her pace agonizingly slow at least her ‘little helper’ slowed down his pace so she could keep up with him. Again he reassured her that he was no threat and she couldn’t help but smirk. “I wouldn’t be here if I still thought you were.” She said, it was true, if she had really thought that this man was dangerous she would avoid him entirely. Akeelah already had her fair share of trouble and the last thing she needed was more of it. Him knowing her name though did give her pause but other than that he didn’t seem like he was dangerous. If she was wrong though, the prize that she would pay for that was high. Nothing like a little gamble in the big game called life.
Then he moved the topic towards the guy that she had seen in the alley and in that moment she finally realized who that was. It had to be the man she had robbed last night, the one who forced her to run all the way to pleasant view just to lose him. Man was he that desperate to get his wallet back? Even more importantly did he tell this guy about who it was? Obviously her victim did not know who she was but he did no doubt get a good look at her to describe her to passersby in his search, there was a chance that this guy knew she was a thief. It even sounded like he was dropping the subtle hint that he knew that but like hell she would admit that to him. “I stumbled into this place by chance,” she answered, “I don’t even know where I am, or where to go I just needed to move.” That was the truth; Akeelah was so focused on leaving pleasant view that she did not pay much attention on where she was going, so long as she was away from there. Besides thanks to that persistent little bastard that was still chasing her she had stumbled into that place by chance and didn’t know where she was going anyway. “Anyways I hope that guy finds his wallet soon, he should be more careful next time.” Akeelah gave no sign that she was lying there, unless this guy openly admitted he knew it was her, and prove that she was the one who did it she would not let that fact slip so easily. Too bad she still had the wallet though, it would be a good idea to drop it, normally she would once she took the cash and just toss it aside for its owner to find later but she hadn’t had the chance. Akeelah didn’t want to let go of it until she took the money first, and it wasn’t like she could just pull it out now and do that. Looked like its owner would never find the thing.
Silence fell once again as the duo made their way to the parking lot. The atmosphere was heavy and intense despite the others best efforts to lighten it. That couldn’t be helped though, most of the tense came from Akeelah anyway and she couldn’t really stop that. Like it or not though she was still here Akeelah could not help but be a little guarded. It was in her nature to be cautious, most people in this world weren’t kind and would turn on you in a moment’s notice, strangers, friends, even family were capable of doing you harm if you weren’t careful. In order to survive in this world one had to accept that fact and do what they could to protect themselves from that kind of pain. The fact that Akeelah was here with this man went against her beliefs and of course did a blow to her pride, but like it or not if taking up this guy’s offer for a place to stay would help her in the long run she would be a fool to pass up this opportunity. But just because she was willing to go with him this far did not mean she was going to be a blind trusting idiot. He had earned a little bit of her trust and now he had to earn the rest of it. That was just the way she rolled and he would have to live with that for now.
After a few minutes they finally made their way over to the man’s vehicle. Somehow seeing that he rode a motorcycle did not surprise her; he just seemed like the type that would be into that sort of thing. It wasn’t like it was a bad thing; even Akeelah thought motorcycles were interesting, especially when she was younger. It might look dangerous but that didn’t mean it was bad right? He offered her up his helmet and she took it without complaint and put it on. There was no point in turning away now so she wouldn’t hold him up. She didn’t have much of a problem with riding on the motorcycle anyway beyond the fact that it was really loud which meant that they couldn’t talk much on the ride to his place. It was a shame really, Akeelah was hoping that she could ask him how he knew her name during the ride their but it looked like that would have to wait till later. After adjusting the helmet Akeelah got on the bike from behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist like how she had seen others do on tv. It was awkward but she wouldn’t complain about that. “Ready.” She said. The sooner they got out of here the better.

At the look of apparent shock on the girls face Patch rolled his eyes, really? Why would she be so surprised that someone knew her name, if someone knew his, he wasn't surprised, if someone didn't then he was surprised. Still, he hadn't actually told the female what his name was, that could wait to later. Silence continued for the moment until they reached the parking lot, once he had handed Akeelah his helmet, he mounted the motorbike and reved the engine loving the sound of the power beneath him, the fastness. There was nothing better that the sheer thrill of danger and even death, although the likeliness of him dying was very little, however the female..Well that was a different matter, yet he had no intention of crashing therefore nothing to really worry about. I wouldn’t be here if I still thought you were. She replied to his comment about not being trouble, at that he grinned dangerously his smile playful. "Really? odd, most females tend to like the whole, danger part. Add a bit of a flare." he mused his eyes briefly flashing wider as he said this. Then the conversation moved onto the topic of the wallet, please. Did she really think he didn't know she just happened to be running, and another man happened to be running and yelling something about stealing a man's wallet, he doubted however the guy she had been chasing was the actual guy she stole of, if anything he was hired and the man she stole off was both powerful and dangerous. The chances of that were low, but would certainly make things interesting what with an added death threat too.
I stumbled into this place by chance, I don’t even know where I am, or where to go I just needed to move. Patch again rolled his eyes and smirked "uh huh..so you happened to be running and a man happened to be running also? something about a wallet. You know I am always careful who I steal off, sure I have several death threats on my head, among other things. But that's all part of the fun" he grinned wickedly then and waited until she mounted on the bike behind him. Anyways I hope that guy finds his wallet soon, he should be more careful next time. Akee commented and Patch tilted his head back and chuckled softly. "Of Course..we can't have people leaving their wallets around now and then people so happen to pick them up." When he felt her arms around his waist, he suppressed a small smile of amusement and very mild excitement. When she said she was ready, he felt her grip increase, pulling away, he weaved in and out of various cars and sped on wards thrusting up into it's highest gear, he preferred a bike, it provided more freedom and it reminded him of flying, if there was one thing he missed where his wings were concerned it was the flying aspect, the feel of the wind rushing though his hair and over his body, as he sped on he was briefly reminded of the sensation, he grinned and pushed the bike on, increasing the speed. He hadn't any idea what the bike's limit was but he was all for trying, it was only when he felt the slight grip around his torso when he remembered that he wasn't on his own. Slowing to a respectable speed, he turned off the main road and headed down several others until he reached the small street with rather large towering houses either side, he was fortunate enough to of acquired one of the houses, medium sized at that.
Pulling up into the drive, Patch cut the engine and glanced around still the feeling of being watched, if not followed was all around him, he could feel it in the air even. Dismounting the bike, he removed the keys and kicked down the stand, before he then continued up to wards the front door, unlocking it he stepped inside and flicked on the lights as he went, leaving the door open for her, as he made his way into the kitchen he called over his shoulder. "Tea, Coffee? Hot chocolate?" he asked, as he flicked the kettle on, his house wasn't exactly tidy nor was it messy it was simply neutral, lived in. Which was how he preferred his house, the most valuable of items were hidden, he had all of about three item that he considered valuable. As he produced two mugs he waited for the kettle to boil as he set up his cup of coffee, something he was dying for, and as soon as the front door closed the wind begun to pick up, typical and lucky almost. He grinned, perhaps luck was with him, maybe he should make his middle name luck, or lucky. As he pondered this he couldn't help but chuckle slightly flicking on the CD player, his music flowed loudly, before his all time favorite song begun to play. Enjoy the Silence by Anberlin. Idly filling his mug up he added milk swaying his hips slightly in time with the music.

Akeelah almost laughed at the man’s comment about women and their attraction to danger. From the way he acted around her and the confidence that he showed had already tipped her off that he was a bit of a playboy, and that comment only helped solidify that belief. She did not mind that though, she doubted that he would try anything with her while she was with him unless he was really desperate. Even if he did he wouldn’t get far. It wasn’t because she didn’t find him appealing, she had to admit that he was physically attractive but she was just not the one nightstand type. The only way she could ever be that intimate with anyone was if she was really close to that person and that would be impossible. Her and people just did not mix and with the kind of life she lived it would be difficult for anyone to get close to her. Even this little arrangement with this man wouldn’t last long. By tomorrow morning she would leave and they would probably never cross paths again. That fact didn’t bother her though, it never really did she didn’t mind being alone. Akeelah just rolled her eyes at him. “I had enough danger today to last me a life time.” She joked, though there was a ring of truth to that. Akeelah had always had a knack for getting into trouble and no doubt what had happened last night wouldn’t be the last incident of trouble she would get into but for the time being she would love to get away from all of that, even if for only a day.
He did not buy her reason for being in the alley, not so subtly suggesting that the reason she was hiding away was because of the human they had saw earlier. She didn’t really care though; let him believe whatever he wanted to believe. She had told him the truth, though vague it was the truth and it was his choice whether or not he chose to believe it. She debated telling him that the incident he had seen before was completely unrelated to what happened to her but in the end decided to hold her tongue. It was better for the both of them if he didn’t know. The less he knew the better. The issue of the human who was looking for her was just another thing that Akeelah had to worry about. It wasn’t too much of a problem; unless the person she had robbed was a hunter she could easily evade him. There was no way in hell that she would let a mere human get the best of her.
Once the girl hopped onto the bike with him and told him she was ready they were off. Driving down the road at an alarming speed. Her grip tightened around his waist as the accelerated, it was a little intimidating, they were moving faster than she had expected and she couldn’t help but feel a little nervous about it. But there was a small part of her that liked it. Riding on the bike felt vaguely like they were flying, and interesting sensation once you got used to it. No wonder some people loved to ride these things. They started to slow down as they headed off the main road, it take them long after that to reach his place. The neighborhood that he lived on looked like the typical wealthy kind of neighborhoods, a nice place if one was looking for some decent houses to loot. Stop thinking about taking shit, now’s not the time! she mentally chided herself for even thinking that. Akeelah never liked raiding houses, it was simply too risky even if she was careful. It was not like she couldn’t do it, she had tried a few times before and the most she took was jewelry and clothes. It certainly paid off better than pick pocketing, but one wrong move and you could get hurt or even killed if the owner of the house freaked out and happened to have a weapon on them. She couldn’t do something like that at the moment anyway since she was in poor condition. That and since this man went out of his way to help her it would just be rude to raid is neighborhood. Akeelah might be a thief but she did have some morals.
Akeelah got off the bike as the man made his way to the front door. It was only then that she felt like they were being watched. The sensation was small but it was enough to make her skin crawl. The girl glanced around while her companion opened the door. She couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary but still the feeling was there. Should I say anything? she pondered, if her instincts were right it could mean that they were in trouble, but what were the chances that he would believe her if she said anything? She couldn’t just say ‘Hey I think we are being watched’, not without any proof. No, for now she would stay silent but keep an ear out for any signs of danger. For all she knew the feeling was coming from some nosy neighbors and not anything dangerous at all. Silently Akeelah followed the guy into his house, closing the door behind her and taking a look inside. The place itself didn’t look too special by normal standards, it wasn’t bad though, it at least looked comfortable. Of course with someone like her who lived most of her life on the streets any place looked good.
The man’s voice broke her out of her train of thought; it took a few seconds to even register what he had said. It was probably the exhaustion that was making her thinking process so sluggish. “Uh…hot chocolate would be nice.” she said, she wandered around a little bit as she took in her surroundings eventually drifting into what she figured was the living room, and took a seat on the couch. She sat in silence while the owner of the house went about his business, thinking about what to do now. She was definitely going to leave first thing tomorrow, and probably find a new place to hole herself up in for the rest of the week until she thought it was safe to come out again. Where to go was the only problem, that she had yet to figure out, all she knew was that she couldn’t go back to pleasant view and wherever she had been before thanks to that fool who was trying to hunt her down too was out of the question. She forced the thought out of her head; just the thought of having another person out to get her was giving her a headache. She needed a break from the chaos. Screw it, I’ll just think about what to do later. She would eventually figure something out, she always did find ways to get out of the messes she usually got herself into this would be no different. If anything her focus should be more on the current situation. Here she was in the house of a total stranger, she should at least try to be nice and try to learn a little bit about the guy.

Music blared from the stereo a he turned up the volume he lived hear too so he would make as much noise as he wanted, besides there were no old couples around nor any couples with young children, in fact there was barely any couples around the small neighborhood. When he heard Akee call that she wanted hot chocolate he made one with practiced motions, to add to it he added whipped cream and a few marshmallows before he then walked to the living room his hips faintly swaying with the music as he placed her drink before her. Patch certainly wasn't the self conscious type of person, although he did keep himself to himself for 99.9% of the time, he enjoyed it that way, although he would always know a lot about the person he was with he would make sure that they knew as little about him as possible, it was just easier, besides he never really asked questions, most of the time he guesses and most of the time he was right, thanks to friends in high places.
With his drink in hand he settled into the sofa and took a small sip enjoying the taste and the warmth as it rushed though him. Placing his cup on the coffee table, he sat back, crossing his legs over, his ankle resting upon his knee. "Alright, heres the plan, you can take the bed and I'll take the couch, unless you rather share..?" he grinned his smile dangerous, but he simply laughed at the look in her eyes. "I don't bite you know, at least not hard." he smirked and then flashed her a small playful wink, before he picked up his tea and cupped it in his hands, enjoying the warmth it offered. Another thing about Patch, was he wasn't the type who could stand awkward conversation or situations, he was often the ice breaker, and he would do something anything to get people talking he hated silence, couldn't stand it half the time, where he had come from everything had been quiet, there had barley been any noise.
"So tell me, something I don't know about you, we may as well talk at least until you finish your drink, the bathroom by the way is through that door on the left." he stated and motioned with his head. "Anyway, where was I? yes, your name is Akeelah, and your a shape shifter correct?" he questioned in attempts to make conversation although he was aware he was probably making her more uncomfortable than anything, still he didn't care all that much, it was something to talk about. Sipping his tea he looked over the rim of his cup to her before he then stood he too wasn't one for sitting still, moving across the room he leaned against the dining table which was situated practically opposite to where, Akee was sitting, with her hot chocolate and a look that was all cautious, if not faintly scared, at least perhaps that was just wishful thinking on his behalf? Either way he sipped his tea calmly and studied Akee for a long moment. He felt the tea run down his throat and chase away the nights chill from his body. Whilst outside the wind blew, and the skies rumbled a storm was certainly approaching one he hoped faintly that his bike would last through. Maybe he should of moved it to the garage where his jeep sat?
As he sipped his tea again he couldn't resist glancing around, perhaps they were being watched, he felt eye on him and they wern't just from Akee, moving across the room to wards the window he peeked through the curtains, rain lashed against the window pane and lightning ignited the sky. Something was happening he couldn't say what, but it was drawing closer he just hoped that he wasn't in the firing line, and if he was becasue of this girl then he wouldn't be a happy Angle. Angle with Attitude. At this thought a smile sprung onto his lips, it had a nice ring to it.

She took the cup that he offered her, giving him a quick thank you before taking a sip. It tasted really good; it probably was the best hot chocolate that she had ever had. The man sat down by the coffee table nearby, he didn’t answer her question but decided to talk about their sleeping arrangement. She didn’t say anything but gave him an odd look instead. One of those looks that read ‘you have got to be joking right?’ of course he had to be joking there, and like hell she would agree to something like that. The only way she would be willing to share the bed with him was if she could just shift into her feline form. That way both sides would have plenty of space and no doubt he couldn’t try anything funny like what he was hinting at the moment. Sadly she couldn’t make that suggestion, he might know her name but that did not mean that he knew that she was a shifter, it wasn’t easy to tell that she wasn’t human unless one had a very keen sense of smell and of course if one caught a glimpse of the mark on her neck. The mark though was covered well enough by her long hair and unless he pulled her hair back (Which she knew she’d never let him get close enough to do that) he wouldn’t be able to see it. Still though Akeelah didn’t know just how much this guy knew about her, she would like to think that she had some secrets that she could keep to herself but with this guy she did not know. She wondered just how he would react if he knew what she was if he didn’t know. That of course depended on whether or not this man was human. Something told her he wasn’t, and if her instincts were correct than he wouldn’t take it badly. It was safe to say though if he was human he probably wasn’t a hunter; a hunter would’ve killed her if they knew what she was. Besides he didn’t seem like the type.
“I rather not take any chances.” She answered finally, her tone light since she didn’t take the joke seriously. She took another sip of her drink as he moved on; she gave him another odd look when he mentioned that he knew that she was a shifter. She wasn’t too surprised that he knew that but really she wanted to know just how he could know this much about her when she hadn’t said anything about that. Now I know that he’s not human. she thought, perhaps he had some special ability that could make him read minds or something, that could explain how he knew those things. The question was just what species had those capabilities? Admittedly Akeelah did not have an extensive knowledge of the other creatures that inhabited the earth. Most of what she knew had come from her father when she was younger, even then he only told her enough to know which species to avoid. So when it came down to what race could do what she only knew enough to know what to watch out for if she had to fight one of them .
“From the sounds of it you seem to know the basics, unless there is something else you are keeping from me.” She said her voice calm though her mind was racing a thousand miles per minute. It wasn’t just her usual caution when dealing with people that was driving this need to know just what he really was she was genuinely curious, she wanted to know how he knew her and wouldn’t rest till she did. “So why don’t you answer me this and I might give you some answers, how do you know what I am?” it was a simple request, answer my questions and I’ll answer yours. At this point she didn’t have many really personal secrets that she wanted to keep hidden besides her past. This man already knew that she was a shapeshifting pickpocket and that much since he wasn’t a complete moron she wouldn’t keep hidden. He had already made it clear that he didn’t care much about that, and since she wouldn’t be taking anything of his he had no reason to worry about that. There was also the chance that she might tell him exactly what she was running from if she knew that he wasn’t human, not to ask for protection of course but maybe learn more on exactly what had attacked her last night so she could defend herself.
She took another sip as she watched him, waiting for an answer. She wasn’t about to let him worm his way out of giving her a proper answer this time around, but for the moment there was something else that she was thinking about too, and that was the feeling of being watched. The feeling had not died when they entered the house, it was hard to ignore now that she had registered that sensation. The last time she had ignored her instincts she ended up like this, she had sworn to herself that she wouldn’t let something like that happen again. It was obvious that she wasn’t the only one that felt something either, the man she was with must have felt it too because she could sense his unease. Well there was no point in hiding her feelings from him if he already knew that something was up. “You can feel it too can’t you? That someone is spying on us.” She said. “Do you think that it’s the same guy from the alley or something else?” at the very least Akeelah knew that it couldn’t be what she had been trying to run away from, it seemed to not take well to sunlight. If it was the human though she might have to leave, she could probably give the fool the slip, it wouldn’t be too hard to do despite her current state and it also meant that she could take the heat off of the one helping her. He didn’t deserve to get dragged into her mess when he did nothing wrong.
