There she was, laying awake again. Peyton couldn’t understand why she wasn’t sleeping anymore. She groaned inwardly, and rolled over to her side, and was met with a picture of her mom and dad. Peyton was always wondering if they were somewhat proud of her, and her siblings. Peyton was sure that if Jayson and Jayleigh kept going the way they were going, they’d be joining her parents very soon. She hadn’t seen much of the twins since she had decided that it was time for her to move out on her own. Peyton just didn’t want to live that lifestyle anymore, and she was able to shift now, so it was all good. She could protect herself. She wasn’t some little kid anymore, though it still shocked her that only a few short months ago, she was unable to shift into such beautiful creatures. Peyton seemed to favor the wolf form, everything was so different through their eyes. With ease, she rolled herself out of the bed, and made her way to the little bathroom. Best thing about Bridgefield : they had the cheapest crap for rent. With her full time job, Peyton was able to afford a tiny apartment.
She stretched lightly, feeling almost like a cat. She brushed out her now short, and dyed hair. Jayleigh had been pissed when she found out about Peyton cutting and dying her, long brown hair. Her hair was still brown, just darker with some very blonde highlights. Peyton had decided that it was time for a change, and the only way to start change, was to change herself. Peyton stared at herself in the mirror, smiled, then walked out. She didn’t have much time to go grocery shopping anymore, she was always working or doing online classes. Living on the streets since you’re five doesn’t do much for your education, so Peyton took it upon herself to GET an education. It was too late to register herself for high school, plus she wouldn’t have time for school regularly. She opened up her frig, but only found old milk, and something else that she didn’t know the identity to. Peyton closed the door, and sighed. Okay, so she would go out, and get something to eat, no biggie. She went back to the room, and turned her alarm clock around to see the time. Seven o’clock. Really? Peyton flopped down on the bed, and sighed.
Instead of complaining though, she jumped up, and grabbed some clothes. She quickly threw on skinny jeans, a shirt, and her shoes. She grabbed her favorite jacket, and headed out. Since she wasn’t the richest girl in the world, Peyton usually took the bus or just walked. It was a sort of nice morning so, she was going to walk. Granted she COULD shift, and get somewhere quicker, but she just wanted to be human right now. Plus, her clothes would restrict her, and she really didn’t feel like taking off her clothes in public, and risk getting caught shifting. She reached up, and touched the nap of her neck. She stood there for a while. Peyton snapped out of her haze, and began to walk again. As she walked though, her hunger died down, and she was now faced on where she should go.
The pier wasn't too far from her, so that's where she decided she would go. She hadn't been there in sometime. Not since, well, she was younger. A lot younger, when she still needed the protection of her siblings. But not anymore, Peyton was a free bird, and no longer needed them for protection. She moved quietly to the pier, and when she arrived, it didn't suprise her to see that it was pretty much deserted. No one was awake at this hour anymore. Peyton sighed, and found her a quiet spot to just sit and think.
