Another new day meant it was back to work with the police in this damn city. Sure, it wasn't the worst job in the world, and it was hell of a lot better than being in prison. He was surprised though that the cops even gave him the opportunity. After killing the guy responsible for his wife's murder, Jensen had landed himself in prison. However, the police must've been interested in his background as an assassin. They made a deal with him, so that if he worked for them in taking out some of the most known and dangerous criminals in the city, they'd let him avoid prison time. Jensen agreed to it, but they made it clear that if he ever went back to his old ways on his own, they'd send him back without question. It was because of that threat that he did things with caution. One screw up, and he could very well spend the rest of his life in prison.
The thought always rested in the back of his mind, and he was well aware of it as he drove the Audi A8 down through the roads of China Town. He was supposed to meet up with some drug dealer and delay him until the cops could arrive. It seemed like such a simple job for him, so he was thinking of throwing his own twist into things without letting anyone know. Why the cops couldn't just do this on their own, he wasn't sure. According to them, he was always able to avoid their tactics and get away with things. However, none of that really mattered now as Jensen pulled up to the side of the road and parked in front of another car. In that other car, was his "target", the drug dealer. Earlier, he'd made a call over to him, setting up a time and place to go through with the deal. With years of experience in dealing with similar set ups, Jensen knew just what to say without giving up too much info.
So after parking, he got out and walked over to the drug dealer's car, opening up the door and taking a seat at the passenger's side. It might've sounded like a dumb idea to get inside the car, but again, Jensen knew what he was doing. "You a cop?" Was the first thing he was asked upon getting into the car. It always humored him that people asked these things, but he kept a pretty straight face. "I just talked to you earlier. And if I were, do you honestly think I'd tell you?" He replied. The drug dealer was silent for a few seconds, but nodded in approval soon after. He then got out a few simple rocks of cocaine and handed them over as Jensen handed him some cash. "You know, for someone that's on the wanted list, you were a lot easier than I thought."
And that, was the phrase he hoped would make things more interesting. Even just a little. "What? The dealer asked, a bit of anger in his tone. "Nothing. Don't worry about it." Jensen said. Seconds later, the dealer revealed a nine millimeter pistol and pointed it nearly point blank at Jensen. "I thought you said you weren't a cop." Not even bothering to look at the gun, he shifted his gaze to the dealer. "I'm not. I'm just their little pet at the moment. Now if you'll excuse me, they'll probably get here pretty soon." And with that, Jensen shoved the gun away with one hand, and then slammed the guy's face into the steering wheel a few times with the other. He had purposely avoided the center of the wheel to keep from hitting the horn and drawing attention, and after only two hits, the guy was out like a light. Not dead, but just out.
From there, Jensen didn't bother to waste anymore time. Getting out of the car, he pulled out his phone and dialed up the number for the police chief. On the other end, the chief answered within moments. "Took care of your little friend if you want to come and get him." After speaking, he didn't even wait for a reply before hanging up the phone and getting back into his own car. Jensen hated working for the cops, and tried to make as little of it as possible. If a long conversation wasn't needed with them, he wouldn't do it. And such was the case here. So Jensen then drove off, leaving the scene so the cops could deal with it on their own. He didn't even want to be around, and as far as he knew, there was nothing wrong with that. The chief might get upset about it, but he did as asked, right? No screw ups there if you were to ask him.
And to add to things, that was Jensen's last assignment of the day. Now he wanted go home and relax, not necessarily in that order though. China town had a few nice places, so he figured he'd stop by somewhere and get something to eat. And after passing by a few places, he decided on one of those smaller restaurants. Parking the car out front, he got out and went inside the building before taking a seat. A waitress was quick to bring him a menu, and finally, it was time for him to relax.
